This was my first time using Bed and Breakfast type of accomodation. Normally we are staying at 4-5 star hotels so were not sure what to expect. The Chateau is located right next to the wineries and looks like a little castle from the fairytale, with beautiful views. The owners are very attentive and trying to make your experience special. From the moment they greet you, to serving cheese and wine in the evening and breakfast in the morning (btw with fresh squeezed juice!) ...it is all very personal. Yes, the bathrooms are small and there is no TV in the room like in a regular hotel room...but that's what makes it unique and special. Loved our stay!
We had a wonderful stay at Fern Grove Cottages. Our room was quaint and cozy and clean. The area was quiet with beautiful views of the redwoods. It was private and the service from the innkeepers was amazing! From pulling out breakfast items just for us because we got there too late to giving us recommendations of things to do and places to go in the area. I will definitely be staying here again!
Brent and Chris are a hoot. They are warm and friendly and fun to be around. Their breakfasts were spectacular!! Great location. Easy to walk to many good restaurants. Our room was just on the small side that is the only negative we have. We would certainly stay there again.
I am a frequent guest and every time I stay I feel like Im coming home. The friendly staff go the extra mile to make me feel welcome and taken care of. The deck off the room that is shared by other guests is always empty and reveals the charm of Healdsburg which could be any small European town. The tub is full sized so you can really take a soak. Not to mention the evening wine tasting which includes a spread that can serve as a dinner for a light eater. The breakfasts are complete and delicious. A great cup of coffee awaits you.
Always our favorite. Rooms and staff are terrific. The best thing is the guest area - delightful during the afternoon to read or just daydream and then cocktail hour and breakfast the next morning. Great location on the Square - walk everywhere. We'll be back in the Spring
Brent and Chris are the best. Property is gorgeous. Breakfast is a work of art! Wine time each evening on the porch is relaxing, and full of laughter. Our 5th stay and we can’t wait for the next!!
My husband and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary at the Inn. Our room was beautiful, the breakfast was delicious and they even made accommodations for my vegan diet! The outdoor area was so relaxing and peaceful. We were able to walk to downtown Napa from our room, which was only a 10 minute walk. When it was time to check out we really didn't want to leave! We are looking forward to going back next year!
Hidden away on a little hilltop in the town of calistoga is the enchanted cottage. We were fortunate to end up staying here at the last minute. Our cottage had more than enough room with a small kitchen, front porch and comfy bed. The price we spent for a night was very reasonable, compared to the other high priced places in calistoga that were way out of our budget. We enjoyed the decor of the place it was simple, yet nicely decorated with the owners pictures thru out the place. Thanks Rebecca for making our stay special we will return!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Stahlecker House. Ron was an excellent host. The breakfasts were delicious and included many more items than I've had in other B&Bs. We stayed in Kira's Suite which was like a small house. I am grateful to Ron for allowing me to rebook at no cost after my flight was cancelled in Houston in the days following Hurricane Harvey.
I wasn't sure the Embrace Calistoga wild be open so soon after the fires but they were very gracious. Our evening and morning at the INN were perfect. Our hosts, Chris and Brent did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable. They even notified us that HWY 128 would be open allowing us to travel to Healdsburg to pick up a wine club shipment. I would highly recommend this B&B.
So, our trip to Napa was not what we expected. We drove up to Calistoga from SFO, the Sunday of the initial start of the wildfires. Innkeeper Chris had given me a great list of wineries for my partner and I to enjoy on our way up the Valley to the inn. It was the perfect day of sipping and buying wines and enjoying good food and spectacular October weather. The initial wildfires occurred that evening and the inn lost power. Not to worry, Chris and Brent had a Plan B--breakfast for all us guests at their home--and hot showers if we needed. These guys did not miss a beat. And since most of the downtown restaurants were closed Monday, they hosted an impromptu home-cooked dinner that night. What gracious and flexible hosts! They did a fantastic job of making the best of a challenging situation. And importantly, kept our safety and well-being in mind at all times. We need a Napa "do-over" and when we do, we plan to Embrace Calistoga! And by the way, the fires did not touch the quaint town and the beautiful inn, nor most of the wineries on the Valley floor. From what I'm hearing on talk shows and reading about the aftermath, the folks in the Valley want tourists to come visit. And Embrace Calistoga is a wonderful B&B.
By far the most personable and inviting B&B we have stayed in. Brent and Chris are what makes Embrace Calistoga such an unique experience, from the smallest details, like the delicious chocolates hand made in Napa Valley, placed on the night stand, to the incredible breakfast, thoughtfully prepared snacks to go and wine pairing on the deck in the evening. We can't wait to be back in December. Stella and Dave
I cannot express how beautiful the Inn On Randolph is. It is absolutely spotless and comfortable. I came home to Fort Collins thinking how I can make my home look like the cottage we stayed in. The staff is extremely welcoming. We didn't have a place to stay when we got to Napa but with lots of luck, we found the Inn and I was blown away with how perfect everything was. Thank You Staff, Lorraine, Devon. I will send my daughter and son-in-law there for their anniversary one day. Also, Maria was so nice too.
My wife and I stayed at the Fern Grove Cottages over the 2017 Labor Day Weekend, with the primary goal of visiting Russian River Valley wineries. Overall, the place is wonderful and the proprietor, Jenny, was fabulous. The cottages were very nice (one drawback, I'll mention below), the service exemplary and the value excellent. We encountered one very pleasant surprise and two downsides. Downside number one. The temperatures in the area were record highs - low 100's - and the cottages don't have A/C. That was a downside, especially the second night where the heat load that accumulated in the cottage didn't really dissipate until the wee hours, so we were uncomfortable. But hopefully that was a one off. Downside number two. Breakfast was good but the same daily. It was a buffet but consisted of the same things every day: various breads and sweet rolls, fruit (strawberries and bannanas) and yogurt, hard boiled eggs, cereal and oatmeal. It would have been nicer if they'd mixed it up. Might have been the weekend - I've stayed and B&B's during holiday or event weekends and their menus weren't their regular experience. That may be true for Fern Grove. The upside surprise was a wonderful patio. We ate breakfast on the patio daily and it was a beautiful spot with flowers, trees, shade, sun and comfortable tables and chairs the fit the motif. Our favorite parts were (aside from Jenny - she knows the wineries and places and is great to chat with) were the redwoods surrounding the place giving it wonderful shade and a cozy feel, the cozy nature of the cottages (so 1960's California) Guerneville, the small town in which it resides. If you've not been to Guerneville, put it on your bucket list. It's a hippy town than that has stayed both quaint and trendy at the same time. We loved it. We will be back to Guerneville and the Fern Grove Cottages our destination.
My husband and I traveled from North Carolina to Napa to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and we were beyond pleased with our stay at the Inn on Randolph. The Inn was beautiful and clean and in walking distance to the riverfront and downtown Napa. We were greeted with wine, chocolates and snacks on arrival. Our room had a private balcony and was lovely! The bathroom was spacious and our bed so comfortable! We were offered suggestions for winery tours, the staff was very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast in the morning was freshly made and beautifully served. We will definitely return, and have already shared pictures and recommendations with our friends and family! Thank you for a truly memorable weekend!
We found this place listed under B&B's in the area. Just the best find! Not only is this house a charmer, the stay was quiet and pleasant. Easy walk to the quaint downtown of Calistoga. They served a great breakfast and special treats in the room and wine in the great room each evening. The room was large....a very comfortable king bed....a shaded patio to sit and read. Short drives to many wineries. We highly recommend this place!
We just wish we could have stayed longer than two nights. So, we will definitely return. We had the most wonderful memorable vacation at Embrace Calistoga and not just because the inn is such a beautiful and clean place (thanks Maria), but because Chris and Brent made the experience exceptional. They made us feel welcome and comfortable. They shared recommendations about the area and made the best breakfasts we have ever had (no exaggeration - you simply have to see their culinary creations for breakfast!) Sharing wine and cheese in the evenings on the beautiful porch was a memorable and enjoyable experience. Chris and Brent have a passion for the inn and the area, the restaurants and wineries. Thanks for a great holiday experience!
