My husband and I had a glorious week this August in this beautiful inn. Ray, Judy, Tanya and George are the loveliest people you ever could meet. They made our whole experience so lovely, peaceful, happy and deliciously delightful. They could not do enough to make our time with them more wonderful. Their welcome wine and cheese reception featuring local Truro wines, to their sweet confections each morning and sweet dream delights at night. We look forward to coming back next year. They take care of you like you are family. Thank you Ray, Judy, Tanya and George. Our warmest regards, Rosalie and Tom Moore Callawassie Island, SC
This is our absolute favorite place to be on the Cape--We have stayed at many beautiful and well appointed Bed And Breakfasts and Inns, but we always choose to come back "home". Pamela and Sandra are the quintessential hosts, they are so personable and charming, and full of wonderful conversation when you want, and respect privacy when you don't. Their staff is superb--Maria and Jennifer's smiles light up a room and they give you the very best experience--in fact the buffet breakfast at the Inn, is like nothing else--there is a wide variety of nibbles, beautiful fresh bread with an array of cheeses, and always a hot dish--first day was a scrumptious peach bread pudding, and the 2nd day it was made to order eggs and bacon with fixings! There are also healthy options--such as fresh smoothies, berries, fruit, granola and yogurt. Truly we would eat a hearty breakfast and then be all set until dinner. One of the most important things to this type A, neat freak gal is cleanliness, and I can tell you the rooms are always spotless, and on point with minimal but lovely decor. And of course the piece de resistance at the Inn is Quigley---the mascot of the Inn! He is the most adorable and well trained pooch I know, counting the days down until next summer to see the gang!
We LOVE A Little Inn! Pamela & Sandra are AMAZING! They TOTALLY understand why is important in hospitality! Kind, caring, educated & welcoming are words I would use to describe them. The rooms are clean, comfortable & depict the area well. The BEST breakfast of any B&B you will stay in! If the Cape is your destination - LOOK NO FURTHER - you have found a your spot! BOOM!
We loved our time at the Inn - owned and operated by two wonderful sisters who are lovely hosts. The breakfast buffet was amazing as was the inn. Our only complaint was on our last day there was a large group in the room underneath us and they were very loud in the middle of the night. I'd highly recommend this inn!
We stayed in June Saturday through Monday and it could not have been lovelier. Brian and Chef Peter are gracious, friendly and delightful hosts. We lacked for nothing. Great bed, decent shower, lovely room. The grounds and inn itself are exquisite, and you can walk to the beach or Main Street for restaurants, etc. Great location for Chatham or to set off and explore the Cape. Did I mention breakfast? Fabulous. Fresh fruit, marvelous dishes and we tried a vegan waffle that was incredible. The afternoon treats- one day we had Madeline’s! and wine were delicious. Our room had a private garden spot which we enjoyed. Such a great stay and we look forward to returning.
This is the third time we have stayed at the Chatham Gables Inn and it was wonderful. Andrea and David create a delicious gourmet breakfast every morning and the inn is beautiful. Their rooms are extremely clean and the location is perfectly situated five minutes away from the beach and the town. I recommend this place to everyone who considers going to the Cape.
Our room was rather small, with a shared bath; but that was my fault for waiting too long to make reservations. They provided everything we needed, including chairs to take to an evening concert at the nearby beach. The grounds are exceptional...great job, Peter! We loved the breakfasts...good, healthy choices; and the evenings on the patio around the fire pit were a great way to end our days.
The stay at Carriage House added great memories to our trip to beautiful Chatham. Val's breakfasts were special and conversations with Jim were not only informative but made our stay truly enjoyable. They have a special gift of hospitality!
We stayed 5 nights at the Carriage House Inn on our first ever visit to Cape Cod. The Inn is simply beautiful: very convenient location, spacious and comfortable rooms with lots of light with all kinds of comfort. The common areas are charming. What made our stay really special was the excellent hospitality provided by Jim and Val and their daughter. Jim did give us very precious advice about everything, from sightseeing to routing to our destinations, shopping and restaurants. One of the highlights of the inn is the two-course breakfast (with different dishes every day) cooked by Val. We highly recommend this excellent and charming Inn.
Our stay at Chatham Gables Inn exceeded our expectations. Our room, Siasconset, was spacious and perfectly appointed. David and Andrea were gracious hosts and were very helpful in assiting us plan our time on The Cape. The food was so good! We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Room somewhat small but cozy and clean, same with bathroom. "Walk to brach" is a nice plus, since Nauset Beach charges $20 for parking during the day. Breakfast looked good, although we didn't eat there due to gluten problems - it would be excellent if they provided some gluten-free options. stairs to second floor steep and narrow, definitely not for someone with a disability or difficulty walking, although the first floor would be fine.
My wife and I chose the Inn because of its close proximity to Nauset Beach but found it to make our vacation so much more. The beach was great but the Inn will make us come back for many years. SOOOO clean !! The grounds were perfect. The room was so cozy and the overall feel of the Inn was home away from home. To top it off, Ownership was so gracious and friendly. Cannot wait to go back !!
Amazing place to stay in Chatham! We loved everything about the Inn! We will definitely stay there again on our next trip. The breakfast was wonderful! Fantastic location. Perfect place to stay when visiting the Cape.
Hosts of inn were always helpful to help with interesting tourist sites and good restaurants in Chatham. Rooms were clean and comfortable with delicious breakfasts each morning and snacks, home baked cookies, and soda & water available for the guests. Bikes, beach chairs, towels, and beach umbrellas available for the guests. Relaxing stay at this lovey bed & breakfast!
We had a wonderful "first time" visit to The Ship Knees Inn in July. The location was terrific. Beach was a short walk and chairs, umbrellas, and towels were graciously provided by the inn. There were countless excellent restaurants in the area. The innkeepers were very knowledgeable about the area and extremely helpful with offering suggestions on things to do, restaurants, etc. The continental breakfast that was provided was provided was very good. We stayed in Room 4 which had its own entrance to the patio and garden. Our room was clean and quite large. Nicely decorated with nautical decor. Bathroom shower was very modern though there was no shelf or rack to put your soap, shampoo or wash cloth on. My only complaint would be that there was a family there (probably staying in several rooms) that had visitors come at night in their cars who clearly were not staying at the inn. They completely took up the whole area around the fire pit. One night when one couple returned from dinner they said to make room for their family because there would be 12 of them sitting around the pit. The next morning they packed their car with 6 chairs and 3 umbrellas when it was only the 2 of them. It appeared to me that they were using the inn's chairs for friends or family members that were staying elsewhere. When it was time for us to grab 2 chairs only the smaller, lowered to the ground ines were left. All in all we had a great visit and would probably return.
This is a lovely inn about a quarter mile from Nauset Beach. The staff was very friendly, the breakfast was excellent. The rooms are small and ours was a little musty smelling, but comfortable. There is a nice swimming pool and fire pit to gather around at night. Great for a family get-together.
I enjoyed my stay at the Ship's Knees Inn. It is so quaint and has a really nice atmosphere compared to staying in a hotel. You can't beat the location right near the beach. I can't wait to stay there again! Thank you Peter and Denise!
Ships Knees exceeded our expections! We enjoyed our stay - the food was delicious, the pool refreshing and the gardens beautiful. The short walk to Nauset Beach was convenient but some of our favorite memories were made talking with other guests at the fire pit! We look forward to returning soon.
My wife and I came to the Cape for just one night to attend an event and were more than pleased with our stay. We were also allowed to arrive early and spend the day at Nauset Beach which was a great perk. The rooms as well as the grounds and pool were very well maintained and the service we received was excellent. We plan on coming back again when we can stay longer.
Have been going to this Inn for many years. It is absolutely amazing, with a beautiful setting and wonderful InnKeepers. Nauset Beach is a stones throw away and a real gem of an ocean beach. Love the Orleans area. This Inn is a must when looking to stay in beautiful Cape Cod.
When we arrived the house looked like it belonged in a Hallmark movie. It's absolutely beautiful. We walked in and the house was full of Cape Cod charm. Andrea met us at the door with a warm smile and we immediately felt like we were home. She provided a wealth of information about the Inn and surrounding areas. She gave us a tour of the Inn showing us the microwave and refrigerators for guest use, common areas, a wine cabinet fully stocked with red and white wine and complimentary Sherry and Port on the table in the second common area. We went into the breakfast area and it was a beautifully decorated sun porch. She put out cookies in the evenings and there was plenty of coffee, tea and hot chocolate. There is a sitting area outside that we enjoyed in the evening and in the mornings before breakfast. Relaxation music played throughout the house and it was a fantastic mood setter. We stayed in the Surfside Room and it was wonderful. It had a private entrance which we loved. When we walked in the windows were open so we could feel the breeze, the linens were crisp and bright white, there were chocolate covered strawberries, a fireplace, robes in the closet, hair wraps and the most amazing body wash, shampoo, conditioner, etc. in the bathroom. All of these are for sale at the Inn and I purchased lotion and body wash before we left. We woke up each morning to the breeze, bright blue sky and birds chirping in the garden. We met David at breakfast the first morning and he was also very full of information and recommendations. The breakfast was incredible. We felt like we were at a five star restaurant each morning. David and Andrea and Chatham Gables Inn made our first trip to the Cape an unforgettable one This place is truly indescribable. It's quaint, it's charming, it's in a prime location and David and Andrea are such a delight. We felt like we were in a Hallmark movie.
The Inn was beautiful, in a great location and provided for some wonderful memories. We enjoyed delicious homemade breakfasts on the patio each morning. And loved taking our evening cocktails to the patio at night. Thank you for a great weekend away! We will be back.
Second time from Maine back to the Cape for vacation. Pete and Denise and their staff spoil you rotten! The perfect location to walk to Nauset Beach, hop on the bike trails or travel the Cape for great food and fun.
We'd never been to Cape Cod or stayed at a B&B and I can't say enough wonderful things about our stay here. When we arrived Andrea was full of information about the Cape. She showed us around the beautiful house and showed us all of the "extras" that were available to guests daily/nightly. These include refrigerator, microwave, wine, cookies in the evening, etc. Then she took us to our room. It was the Surfside room. It was very private, which we loved. When we got there the windows were open so we could feel the breeze, and we woke up to bright sunny, blue skies and birds chirping in the garden. There's a fireplace in the room, great shower with amazing shower products that are even available for purchase, robes and the bed sheets were amazing. We met David after breakfast the next morning and he was also a wealth of information. Breakfast was incredible. We felt like we were at a 5 star restaurant. This place soared above our expectations. It's very quaint and is exactly what Chatham portrays. David and Andrea are wonderful. We're already planning a trip back to the Cape and Chatham Gables Inn next year!!!!!
