We arrived in CR in the evening and rented a car. Needless to say driving in San Jose is an experience! On our way to Casa 69 we got lost and called for directions. WE found the hotel but we weren't sure and saw a number of young folks hanging outside (there are two karaoke bars on the conrner of the narrow street) and got a little nervous. We turned the corner and were promptly lost again. We called back and spoke to Oscar. Oscar remained so calm in getting us to Hotel Casa 69. He was so sweet even within the midst of us losing our cool on the phone. Once we arrived and pulled into the car port we entered a little piece of paradise. The bright colors, the plants, the warmth of the staff (Oscar and Alma) -- our stress fell off and we feel in love with the place. Our rooms were clean and comfortable. Being animal people we were enchanted by a new litter of kittens and two resident cats. The breakfast were so good. We just loved it. (and Oscar sorry again for losing it. You are an Angel).

room size was barely livable with too small a closet entrance for me to pass through. room situated next to garbage storage area with weathered discarded cardboard containers outside the bathroom window which had to remain open for any ventilation. extraneous noises, day and night, from service staff in garbage area, street traffic, train traffic, and barking dogs in-house. soiled and odorous towels just outside room entrance use to bed three house cats roaming freely in the access area to rooms. pet dogs and cats roaming freely in the food service area. pet dogs (3) lounging freely in common sitting and reception area of your establishment. location of B&B in less than a desirable neighborhood.

You must be extremely obese in order to have trouble passing through a standard size exterior door (not a closet door). Your hatred of animals concerns me, I would have been worried that you may have eaten some(the staff did do a head count for me since I was away during your stay) There is no stored cardboard garbage containers because there is no recycle in Costa Rica & your room was not by any storage of garbage. You just wanted your money back since you had to fly back home early & told us you were going to trash the hotel everywhere unless we refund your money & not adhere to our cancellation policy. Unfortunately for you we have your e-mails telling us that. We get reviews on how clean the place is & one thing I can not tolerate is lying animal hating A.H.'s

Lovely b&b, I don't recommend renting a car in San Jose, it's a mad house, parking is a tiny garage that I ended up scrapping the side of car trying to park Bc of other cars , but really enjoyed our place.

The room was over our expectation ! It was our second trip to San José and the first place we stayed was awful, but this place is so amazing ! It's well located, near downtown (walk distance), it's very safe and quiet. The host are very kind and the breakfast was very good ! I recommend it to everyone !!

I have stayed at Casa 69 several times now and have been very happy with my stay each time. The owner and staff and very friendly and helpful. They make you feel like you are part of the family. They even arranged transportation from the airport and helped me pick some of the tours I went on. The rooms are well maintained and very clean. I have gone to a number of restaurants in the area, and had some very enjoyable meals. Tin Jo's, Limonchello's and Cafe Mundo were my favourites. All in all, I would recommend Casa 69 to anyone who is staying in San Jose for 1 night or a month.
