May 2017 I booked this stay through HotWire.com, and little did I realize the lack of service I would get from Asante Sana Inn. Let’s get started: Arriving 1) - upon following the guided map directions I had to drive around the neighborhood (one-way streets) three times before I realized the red colored building behind the overgrown lawn and shrubs that had no business signs outside was my destination. We had trouble getting anyone to answer the door since it was 7:30 pm so some guests entering the building let us walk right in with them. It was about 5 minutes later that we realized that management had sent us a Word doc of how to get into the building since they would not be available after 7:00 pm. The document included parking instructions, a code to get into the front door, and a code to the bathroom (yes it is a shared bathroom & this was not listed in the online description either). Parking 2) – once we found the 2 car parking slab around back of the building we were informed by management that we would have to walk around to the front of the building to come into the front door, open the back door, and then bring in our luggage (see attached pics). This walk included going around the block through some sketchy areas with encouragement from management it was "safe." Entry 3) – the stairs to the building were narrow, steep, and could pose challenges for anyone with physical conditions, or carry items such as coolers or luggage. Does not support ADA requirements & no refund...

I took a quick weekend trip to DC. Didn't want to spend a lot of money. Just wanted to relax and visit the museums and DC attractions. Saw this B & B on the internet and decided to give it a try. What a wonderful surprise. The room I had (the DuBois Suite) was large and very comfortable. It had a kitchenette with microwave and small fridge. Large modern bathroom with lots of fluffy, soft towels. Tastefully decorated common area with piano and fireplace in the living room. As if the accommodations were not enough, the location is fabulous. Walking distance to lots of good restaurants and shopping. Best of all, it's just 2 blocks from the metro. YOU DON"T NEED A CAR nor do you have to take taxis. That's money in my pocket. I flew into Reagan and took a taxi, but took the metro back to the airport. It's quick, easy and fast (about 15 minutes). No waiting in traffic. The inn keepers are really nice. You can use the full kitchen and dining room if you want to. This is such a great place, I almost wanted to keep it secret but I decided to share. I will return many times I am sure. It's like having a second home in DC.
