We were in Nashville on business and decided to combine that trip with a trip to Bowling Green. Not wanting to stay in a hotel I found this B&B with availability. What a pleasant surprise! Great house and property with interesting guest rooms. We stayed in Melanie’s room. Breakfast was delicious and different each morning. Steve was the best host! A relaxing and enjoyable stay. We will return the next time we are in the area.
We absolutely loved our stay at the Victorian House! To stay here is like stepping back in time! Very Clean, a friendly host, great breakfast and wonderful front porch.....and such a convenient location to the interstate and to Mammoth Cave National Park. Charming little blink and you miss it town of Smith's Grove. I would definitely stay again and am already telling my friends to visit, too.
We stayed 2 nights while we toured Mammoth Cave and had a great experience at this charming house. Steve was very friendly and the breakfasts were outstanding. I was especially pleased to find out he has 2 precious little schnauzers who were a pleasant accompaniment to the french toast and quiche. Melanie's room was roomy and elegant.
We were motorcycle touring around SC, TN, KY and decided to take the 6 hour Wild cave tour at Mammoth Cave - we wanted a nice quiet place to stay for 2 nights while we were in KY. The Victorian Inn is a beautiful old house with tall 12 foot ceilings and antiques situated throughout. Our Hosts were very nice and accommodated our request that the motorcycles not be parked on the main street. Breakfast was delicious and filling.
My husband and I enjoyed two relaxing nights at Victorian House B & B. The house is a lovely historic Victorian house with many interesting decorations and features. My husband was particularly fascinated by the solid brick exterior (not made that way anymore). We enjoyed a nice evening on the large porch. Steve and Kathy prepared two delicious breakfasts and accommodated us in every way. .
Loved our stay. Everything we could ask for was provided. Breakfast was amazing, deliciou and more than we could eat. Having a fridge and freezer available for our use was a plus. Highly recommend and definitely would stay again.
The house is very beautiful and artfully decorated! My daughter and I stayed in the Ashley room. The bed was very comfortable. We were able to look into the other rooms also and would have loved any one of them. Although, I was quite jealous of the big claw foot tub in Scarlett's room! We felt like we had stepped back in time to a different era. Our breakfast was delicious! Steve is quite the chef and enjoyable to talk to. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to any of our friends.
My husband and I recently visited the Victorian B & B and were thoroughly impressed. We would recommend this inn whole heartedly. We stayed in the Rhett room. It is one of the smaller rooms and it was cozy and comfortable. We got to peak in the other rooms and found them to be charming and thoughtfully decorated. Steve prepared a hearty breakfast and sat with us while we ate. He seemed to enjoy telling us the history of the home--all very fascinating.
Nice B&B in the middle of a small town close to the caves and bowling green The rooms were well decorated in the Victorian style with a Christmas theme. The Inn is located in the Antique district so walking to the stores was just across the road. The breakfast was excellent!
We had a wonderful overnight stay at the Victorian House. Steve was very friendly and accommodating of my dietary restrictions. Breakfast was hot and delicious, and we had plenty of hot water for the clawfoot tub. The house was quiet and relaxing, just what we were looking for. There's great antique shopping in Smiths Grove, which we enjoyed. If you're looking for a good place for dinner, you'll probably want to drive to Bowling Green. Not many dining options in Smiths Grove.
The decor is cozy and totally kitsch. Fabulous in its own special way. I esp loved the art deco bathrooms. The food was great but the hosts seemed to equate hospitality with telling guests their problems. I'm not sure that this is what I came for. Also, being able to access hot water independently to make your own tea and coffee would be a big improvement. Overall I loved it and would recommend.
Our stay at this wonderful home could not have been more enjoyable - the owners, our hosts, accommodated us in every way. The king sized bed in our room was very comfortable and we had everything needed in the room and bath. Breakfast was great and we were given a short tour with history of the home - highly recommend staying in this B&B - the town and shops were across the street which added charm and interest.
My mother and I had a wonderful time. Kathy and Steve were perfect hosts. We felt at home talking and laughing with them. The house is beautiful, immaculate, and quiet. The mattress was very comfortable, and breakfast was delicious. A bonus for us was the antique shops within walking distance and the many more within a few miles. We will be going back!!
My wife loved the Victorian decorations. Nicely situated between the Corvette museum and Mammoth Cave near the freeway, but not too close. Several antique shops nearby. My wife said the sheets were really soft too.
Steve and Kathy made our 3 day visit an experience to remember. They were perfect hosts. The location was close to Mammoth Caves which we wanted to tour. The house is an expression of Kathy's talents. Steve related a lot about the house which added to the experience. Would visit them again in a heart beat.
Our stay at Victorian House B & B was our first experience with a B & B . We chose to stay at this B & B after looking at the web site and the photos. It was our anniversary. Steve and Kathy are very good hosts and they made us feel like we were at home. The rooms are beautiful and the furnishings are great. Steve cooked two excellent breakfasts for us (Kathy was working). We would definitely stay there again. Sincerely, M. and L. Smith , Tennessee
Victorian House was an awesome place to stay. Our host and hostess(Steve & Kathy) are very warm and friendly folk who did a wonderful job making 9 peoples two day stay very comfortable. They made you feel at home.Steve was very tolerant of all of my questions concerning the house(I don't think he got any work done while I was around)
