The best part of staying at the Bay House was eating breakfast on our own porch area and watching the sunrise over the water.

I loved this B&B. Loved the owner, they went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. The location was perfect too. I would go back stay there in a heartbeat. I am hoping I can stay here again one day.

We spent three nights here and loved it. Bayside has 3 guest rooms right on the bay. Each has its own lanai with the sound of the surf below where you can relax in the morning with your breakfast or the evening as you unwind. The rooms are nicely decorated and very clean. Our hosts were friendly and accomodating! Bayside is located right across the bridge from downtown Hilo. It is an easy 45-60 minute drive to Volcanoes National Park, and a short drive in the other direction to the Botanical Gardens. We stayed in the Palm room and loved it. Windows on 3 sides, spacious and very relaxing.

We had a great time. Small place with 3 rooms overlooking the bay. No restaurant but you could bring to your private lanai. I definitely recommend and would stay here again.

Wonderful B&B in an easy and convenient location in Hilo. Christine was welcoming and accommodating in helping us with needs and questions. Stayed in the Palm Room, which was very private. Easy to come and go at your leisure without feeling you were disturbing anyone.

Large pleasant rooms, ample parking, spacious common area, delicious and full size breakfast, ocean-side and ocean-view, private, access to recreational items, comfortable bed, use of refrigerator and microwave, close to downtown via the Singing Bridge, considerate owner/host. Fans and cross-breeze, no air-conditioning. Earplugs provided due to coqui (noisy invasive frogs).

We stayed a few nights at this in. It could not have been more comfortable and thoughtful. The basics were all there -- very comfortable bed, above-expected closet space, excellent clean housekeeping, in-room coffee service, etc. The host go above expectations in a great breakfast, helpful items when traveling (e.g. stuff for the beach; restaurant recommendations.) Beautifully decorated to evoke the tropical atmosphere. This is not glitzy beach-front resort, but a very charming and comfortable stay that feels like real Hawaii.

I stayed at Bay House with my wife for 3 nights. The B&B is a 5-10 minute walk into town so well situated for food and shopping. We booked the Harbour Room, with a nice view over the sea and away from the road, so quiet. The room was clean and well equipped, with a shared lounge area. The breakfasts were good which were made up fresh for us to eat on our lanai. If we go back to Hilo we would stay here again.

We stayed at the Bay House recently for 4 nights. We stayed in the Bay room. The room was tastefully decorated and very comfortable. We had a private bath with everything we needed. We had our own private balcony looking at the ocean. There was a hot tub outside that was ready to be used at all times. We did use it one night. We had a pleasant surprise every morning of a delicious breakfast that included fresh fruit, homemade breakfast cake and scrambled eggs. It came in a cute basket ready early every morning. Boy did we enjoy that!! Parking was never a problem we had covered parking which was nice. Tina and Tom were very kind and ready to please. They even gave us great suggestions of things to do. Don't miss this opportunity to stay here! Great place!!
You'll really enjoy the Bay Room with it's quiet, comforting tones. You won't believe how fortunate you are as you sit on your own private lanai sipping your morning coffee enchanted by a full view of Hilo Bay.
The Palm Room has a great open ocean view and is surrounded by lush palms in a tropical jungle setting. Sleep to the sounds of the ocean and wake to beautiful pastel sunrises. Life at the Bay House is good ... very good indeed!
This room has a glorious view of Hilo's stunning Harbor. Before bed you'll stare in disbelief as sparkling tropical moonlight dances on the bay's gentle waters.

I have wanted to own and run a bed and breakfast since I was 16 years old. When we moved to Hilo in 1995, we found this gorgeous property perched perfectly on the ocean and within walking distance of downtown Hilo. We built our home specifically as a B&B and started in 1997. My husband, Tom, worked full time as a general surgeon for 20 years and now works part time. Since his semi retirement, he tirelessly helps me cook breakfasts, greet guests, clean and take care of just about everything.
