We travel much and prefer B&B's. The hospitality at this one was exceptionally good. We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this B&B. Very clean, everything really well done and great food!
We stayed for 2 nights on a summer getaway. Their attitude was very friendly and welcoming. Lots of little touches and amenities to make our stay enjoyable. The room was clean and comfortable. But the best part was the food! A wide range of delicious breakfast dishes to satisfy different palates, not to mention extra snacks, bottled water, and fresh baked goods to help recover at the end of busy, recreation-filled days. The next time we return to Ludington, this B&B will be our first choice.
My wife and I stayed at the Ludington House for our 5 year anniversary and it was amazing. The breakfast that was served in the morning was delicious. Great service and an amazing room! Definitely will stay here again in the future!
This was everything I ever could have wanted! They were amazing in every way and down to every detail. They knew my fiancee and I had just gotten engaged and made sure to make everything absolutely perfect for when we got there. The room was great, the food was delicious, and the friendliness of our hosts was amazing and if I am ever in that part of Michigan again, I will definitely go back!
My adult daughter and I stayed at the Ludington House Bed and Breakfast for two nights Easter Weekend 2016. It was our first experience in a bed and breakfast stay and we were blown away with the beauty of the home as well as the attentive and gracious manner of our Inn Keepers Bob and Ellen. Their home is absolutely gorgeous and is decorated impeccably with 19th century period pieces. Each room has its own full bathroom which is a detail that provided extra privacy and comfort to us. Our room was most comfortable and left my daughter and I very relaxed at the end of our stay. Bob and Ellen provided a delicious breakfast both mornings of our stay. They are excellent cooks and our dinning experience (as well as the entire stay) left us feeling very pampered. Fresh cookies, coffee, tea and hot chocolate available 24/7 was and indulgent perk as well. I would highly recommend the Ludington Bed and Breakfast. My daughter and I cannot wait to return! This is our sixth time we have stayed with Melonie and crew. Great food and service. Exciting breakfast with added snacks at night along with getting treated Like Gold. You need to come and stay with Mel. Mr &Mrs W Mattila
We were lucky to find an available room on the weekend of Octoberfest. Upon arrival it was clear that Karen had rolled out the red carpeting for us. The room was perfect, clean, quiet and comfortable. Karen's breakfast was fantastic and she made us feel like were visiting a friend. Great location on a quiet street with no traffic just a few steps from downtown. It's one block to the river and a short walk to the beach. You won't find a better location in Pentwater. We will definitely be back.
We were in Ludington for a wedding and stayed the night at this perfect inn. The room as well as the house is kept beautiful and comfortable. Very friendly people from arrival to departure. Breakfast was amazing. We will definitely be staying here again.
Great place to stay. Very clean, very friendly inn keepers, very accommodating (even for a vegan diet). Staying with Ola & Kathy was great. Will definitely stay their again whenever staying in the Ludington area.
We had a great time on our two night visit! I would definitely recommend this B&B. I went with a friend but would love to bring my husband back. Our room was great, beds were wonderful!!! Breakfast was delicious!
Melanie, Gary and Chris were all awesome! I cannot say enough great things about this place - you will be treated like royalty!! Everything was amazing, especially the food - we were full from the fresh homemade breakfast all day long! This was our first stay at a B&B and I don't think anything will ever top this. The room, although small (which we knew from the description on the website), was spotless and cozy. It was surprisingly soundproof (or the other couples that were there were extremely quiet) despite the fact that the rooms are all located on the same upper floor. We had ZERO complaints and are looking forward to returning. Just thinking about the breakfast, and the desserts we received when we checked in, are making me hungry....... :)
Our family of 6 stayed in the loft apartment. It had enough room for all of us and the fridge and microwave were great for heating up dinner we brought with us. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and provided information and suggestions for what we could do in the area. Breakfast was far beyond expectations with multiple hot options and homemade goodies. Definitely something for everyone and all 4 kids loved it (not an easy accomplishment!). I would highly recommend the Inn at Luddigton to anyone needing accommodation in the area. We will definitely be back again!
My sister and I recently stayed at the Inn at Ludington, what a wonderful time we had, the moment we walked in the door and was greeted by the owner Ola we felt at home, The house was rich with history and so nicely decorated with furniture from a century ago,The breakfast in the morning was 5 star!!! We would recommend to everyone to experience this beautiful house, We look forward to our next visit. Thank you Ola and Kathy
The Candlelite Inn has super friendly hosts. Along with making sure that everything is exactly as you need, they also have great advice about the area. The breakfast consisted of many specialty foods along with regular items. In addition the hosts were more than willing to cook anything you may want to order. Was the best, fanciest breakfast we have ever had. Also in the evening treats were available including ice cream. We would highly recommend as a place to stay.
We stayed at the Candlelite in the Romantic Retreat Suite and had a great weekend (April 2014). Melanie is so accommodating and welcoming, and she goes over the top with the breakfasts. Everything she made was fantastic and there was more than anyone could possibly eat. She also made sure there were snacks (homemade cookies and brownies) and beverages available at all hours Our room was comfortable and spacious and quiet.
Staying at the Candlelite Inn was an outstanding experience. The hostess was beyond accommodating, the atmosphere was peaceful, and the amenities were perfect. I can’ say enough positive. Oh. The food was excellent. The breakfast was an experience to remember. My friend, staying in a pet-friendly room, had this to say: After a day of sightseeing in Ludington, my pooch was dog tires. He found the accommodations at the Candlelite Inn B&B beyond all expectations.
We recently spent a lovely long weekend at the Inn at Ludington. After talking with Kathy on the phone when I was making the reservation, I had a sense that we would be enjoying our stay, and that certainly was the case. Kathy is a superb hostess, and she and Ola make sure their guests are well looked after. The old house has been lovingly maintained, and each room is a treasure. The breakfasts were superb, each of the three we enjoyed different, delicious, and with a bit of a surprise. And my sister and her husband (area residents) really enjoyed the breakfast experience (Kathy invited them to join us) and hospitality. Our stay really made our visit to Ludington memorable and most enjoyable. Thanks, Kathy, for this wonderful visit.
Every hotel in Ludington was booked. It just so happened that the Inn had the loft available for us - 4 adults and 2 children. It was like being back in time but with all modern amenities. The smell was so much like home. The room was impeccable. The dining...fabulous!! I cannot say enough good about The Inn at Ludington!! Coupled with the great atmosphere of the city...it's a must-do!!
Thank you for a very memorable experience for our first ever B&B stay! Larry and I had a beautiful and peaceful weekend, stuffed ourselves silly on such tasty food and felt so rested and ready to hit the day to day stuff again. We appreciate everything! Melanie truly does a fantastic job and is so very, very accommodating. The rooms are very homey and so Victorian. We are starting to plan a December visit as I bet her home is a beautiful place to be around the holidays :) Thank you for the great memories! Larry and Kelly
This is a lovely 100 year old victorian house. We chose this after reading other reviews on line and were not sorry. Melanie, the inkeeper goes way out of her way to accomodate you and make you feel welcomed. Our room was fine, bathrobes supplied, flatscrren VCR, chocolates. There is also a stocked frig for drinks and snacks are always set out. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious and she will cook to order if so desired. It is in a good location for walking or biking. We met 3 couples who were repete guests. On couple had been coming every year for 7 years! We'll be back again I'm sure.
Inn at Ludington offer a lately Victorian B&B just a lovely ten-minute walk from one of Michigan's best (family) beaches. The owner is friendly and breakfast is delicious. Also close to a great state park.
My daughter and I stayed one night in this charming home. Melanie is very friendly and goes out of her way to make a person comfortable. Our bed was like sleeping on a cloud. I was worried about the street noise as we had the bedroom closest to the road, but with the air conditioner on it was no problem. Melanie makes your breakfast whenever you need it and it was delicious and huge !! She has food all over the house and tells you to help yourself to the fridge. She made lovely chocolate covered strawberries after our meal out in the evening. I would stay here again for sure
We were somewhat disappointed by our room.... There was no window... Only a skylight and no wi-fi. The room, however, was clean and well decorated. The breakfasts were very good and the overall atmosphere was welcoming!
The Pentwater Abbey is an outstanding B&B in a picturesque resort town. It's very close to the many shops and restaurants in downtown Pentwater as well as the lake and park. I've spent many summers in this town and some of my best memories are when I stayed at this inn. I recommend it whole-heartedly!
I wanted to do something special for my wife's birthday so I surprised her with the Romance suite. We have traveled extensively but have never stayed in a b&b. I picked this inn due to it's hot tub and location. Initially when we arrived, I parked in the back and was not impressed with the exterior of the inn and was wondering whether I had made a good selection. Once Melanie met us at the door and we were escorted to our room, I absolutely knew I made an excellent choice. Weenjoyed our stay immensely and Melanie is a wonderful hostess. The room was great and the breakfast was very enjoyable. All I can say is believe all the reviews that are written about this inn. This inn is beautiful on the inside and although we are not frequent b&b visitors, we are discerning individuals and had certain ideas about how a b&b would operate. Needless to say, Melanie met all those expectations!!
My husband and I were celebrating our Anniversary. Melanie was wonderful. She went over and beyond. We have stayed at several B & B's but The Candlelite Inn was the best one yet!!! Melanie makes you feel like family and we will be back for sure!!!
