We went to Asheville for a long weekend getaway and picked a great bed and breakfast! Everyone was extremely helpful and kind. Breakfast was fantastic! Loved the room with the fireplace and jetted tub. Very close to downtown, took Uber everywhere. Will definitely be back!

From the moment we walked in to the moment we walked out, it was ALL wonderful, cozy, elegant and charming was this house on the hill. The staff were so friendly helpful and amazing all the way around. My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and it couldn't have been more perfect. We will come as often as we can to enjoy it over and over.

The staff was friendly and welcoming. We loved chatting with other guests over evening wine and cheese in the lounge, and it was nice seeing them again in the mornings as we all sat down to breakfast together. The meals were amazing! Our room was lovely, and it was very easy to get into town from the inn. We'd love to come back!

Was worried when we pulled in as the yard was smaller and less well-kept and the building more run-down than web photos. But our room was nice, clean with good AC and ceiling fans. Enjoyed the airy front porch and parlor for reading, the on-site tablet for quick internet work, and the great fresh-baked snacks and fruit available all day. Breakfast was really great, true southern gourmet. Felt it was a little pricey but perhaps not for Asheville. NOT walking distance to downtown for the average person and the neighborhood surrounding a little sketchy.

Booking, check-in and check-out were super easy. They had a great preplan for late check-in, too! Breakfast was great fun. Room was well apportioned. Only two small disappointments. 1. Jacuzzi tub was bathtub sized. 2. TV movies through Hulu was intermittent at best (not a big deal since we did not come to watch TV!). Overall a great stay, we would recommend for future visits!

Our first time at a B&B. We were not disappointed. Would recommend Hill House to friends and family. Carey was so sweet and informative. The hostess with the mostess. Really enjoyed our time in Asheville, neat town. I truly recommend the audio tour at the Biltmore, so enjoyed that place.

The house is old and lovely, and tastefully decorated--old photos through the hallway and antiques in the common rooms. Beautiful, comfortable front porch that looks toward downtown. It is a great location--5 minutes from downtown and 10-15 from the Biltmore Estate. The hosts were very nice, but our room was a bit shabby--peeling wallpaper & aged bedspread--and very small. The bathroom also was small, but modern and clean. There is a 5 pm happy hour in the common room, but breakfast is served only at 9 am--so for those who have to leave early (e.g., us, both mornings we were there), you miss the full breakfast. A light continental is provided, but would have liked more for the price we paid.

This was a last-minute stay, and it was great. Carey was a wonderful host, the appetizers/wine and full plated breakfast on the front porch were outstanding. Definitely a great Asheville B&B
A very striking room having been recently redecorated! Rich and cozy with a majestic four poster canopy bed, and marble top dresser. Surround yourself in soft peach and warm beige tones with both carpeting and hardwood floors underfoot. FIREPLACE, JACUZZI tub & shower, and pedestal sink complete this romantic retreat.
The S&W Room is fresh and dramatic. With beige grasscloth wallcovering, you’ll rest in a four poster, black lacquer bed amongst African and animal prints and decor. The S&W has hardwood floors, oriental rugs and a breakfast nook that overlooks the gardens. The bathroom has dramatic black and white tiles playing against cappuccino colored walls. Enjoy the JACUZZI tub & shower with a view of the gardens. Have IN-ROOM BREAKFAST, if you choose.
Golden faux finished walls warm this secluded cornerstone treasure. Located on the ground floor, the Arcade fashions a bright and airy ambience with its multi-windowed structure, including a cozy window seat - just perfect for an afternoon read. The original clawfoot tub and shower adorned with delicate dragon flies, add to the Arcade's charming appeal.
This Asheville Cottage is the "little house" that sets behind the big house. Charming and secluded, the Cottage is perfect for that brief or extended Honeymoon stay or romantic retreat. Bringing together a blend of the old and the new, there are soft butter tones on the original beadboard walls, complemented by blue and yellow cottage style furnishings. You will find a full kitchen, dinette and living room on the first floor. Upstairs enjoy the library on the landing, the quaint and cozy bedroom with walk-in closet and twig curtain rods, and full bath with two person JACUZZI tub & shower. Relax on your private porch. Airy and comfortable, our second largest suite is decorated with Biltmore House reproductions and memorabilia. The bathroom is spacious and chic, with hardwood floor, two-person JACUZZI TUB with hand-held shower, crystal chandelier, and pedestal sink. Have IN-ROOM BREAKFAST in your own breakfast nook, if you choose.
The Flat Iron, our largest suite, with second story views of the Asheville skyline to the south and the surrounding mountains to the west, is graced by traditional and contemporary influences. The living room is framed by a large comfortable daybed), club chairs, and FIREPLACE. Stylish and cozy, the bedroom is large, with views of the gardens. The adjoining bathroom has an airjet tub and shower, pedestal sink and brass fixtures. Have IN-ROOM BREAKFAST, if you choose.
Located in the rear of the Hill House estate and just steps from the inn, the Hideaway is a large comfortable, elegant loft suite. In recently built, former owners quarters, you will have a private entrance, mini-fridge, coffeemaker, large jacuzzi tub and pedestal sink. The windows open onto an isolated, wooded corner of the grounds where others rarely walk. Privacy and seclusion, in the middle of the city.
The contemporary one-bedroom apartment, on the ground level of a recently built townhouse is nestled in the trees at the rear of the Hill House property. The Apartment has a wonderful chef's kitchen, large living room with a gas fireplace, polished hardwood floors, custom lighting, and a bath with a jacuzzi tub. It's a place to get away from it all and still have all the comforts of home and more.
The Kress Room, named for the former five-and-dime chain store in downtown Asheville, NC, contributes some “Shabby Chic” to Hill House — all the casual elegance of traditional antiques and all the cozy comfort of modern decor. Shades of whites and blues with accents of silver create a fresh and light ambience. Located on a corner of the second floor, guests might enjoy afternoon tea and quiet seclusion in its winged-back Victorian chair. The queen bed mattress is the newest and comfiest on the property. The bathroom, with the purest shades of blues and whites, is charmed with a silver gilded claw-foot tub, pedestal sink, and chandelier. Gentlemen…. for all the times your lady has watched football with you.
A cozy interior sleeping room with an adjacent sun-filled sitting room—the Battery Park Room is named for the former hotel across from the Grove Arcade in downtown Asheville. Originally a sleeping porch, this outer half of this room is surrounded by windows for wonderful light and air. The double-parlor-style, second-floor suite has hardwood floors, a queen bed, a bath with a slate tile and glass rain shower, a full-size twin daybed sofa, and huge club chair. Finished in cream colors with touches of black and lots of texture, it has Neo-Classic flair. Battery Park can accommodate a third person or two who don’t wish to share a bed.
The Jackson Room is decorated in warm beiges and accented with black in a seamless blend of Neoclassic and Asian influences. Hardwood floors, a canopy queen bed with sheer curtain, a romantic fireplace, a Jacuzzi jetted tub & shower, and a decorative vanity complement the Jackson’s eclectic and nocturnal surroundings. We named the ground-level room for the striking, 14-story Jackson Building, downtown Asheville’s first skyscraper. Small dogs accepted.
