Romantic and elegant

4,8 en enero 10, 2018

Nice inn/B&B. Elegant antique decor, not tacky or cheesy. Lots of interesting things in the area for a weekend getaway. We stayed in the room closest to the road and were able to heat an occasional truck in the A.M., not enough to wake you but there. Cars were pretty faint. It didn't detract from an excellent stay for us and we would both return to the same room. Breakfast also very good.

Country bnb is top notch value

New Year’s Eve was a perfect time to enjoy the Elm’s beauty and charm; with the super hospitality of the owner/chef/property managers I felt at home and made a few new friends too. The wide board floors and cozy bed rolled back the clock to the 1700 s without having to sacrifice modern conveniences. The breakfast porridge and fruit stuffed French toast with local maple syrup was hearty enough to keep me going on a hike at the West Trapps. The great room and upper loft provided a food fest and holiday celebration area for many guests and friends to mingle and nosh. I highly recommend this bnb!

Road Trip visit - Monday 30 Oct 2017

Room was wonderful, bed comfortable and decor beautiful and we will come again - but what blew us away was the gourmet breakfast. Many B&Bs serve a continental breakfast these days - we awoke to the smell of sausage and bacon, a spinach quiche, and hot, homemade berry crumble followed by fresh orange juice. Beautiful way to start the day. Our host was friendly and gave us maps to the many local sites in this beautiful area. My wife and I recommend the Elm Rock Inn highly - stop in and enjoy!

Wonderful Time

We arrived late and the owners accommodated us with no problem. We had a great breakfast made by owner/chef Mark. Our bed was too firm for my wife and I.

Excellent B&B

Perfect first day of our honeymoon

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property is beautiful, the room was comfortable, and the BREAKFAST was amazing!!! Chef Mark was so hospitable and we had a wonderful conversation with Meghan. We would highly recommend the inn to anyone who would like a stay in a historic home with a great breakfast and warm and genuine hospitality.

Returning guests

My partner and I have been visiting the Elmrock Inn every year for the past 4 years. We live in Colorado now instead of Manhattan but still made sure to include the Elmrock Inn during our New York visit this past summer. As always, we had a wonderful time. The rooms and inn in general are beautiful and charming and the staff members are so nice and helpful. They even helped me pull off my proposal! They really go above and beyond and always provide great recommendations. And the breakfasts never disappoint! They are truly delicious and leave you full until dinner time! Thank you so much for an awesome time!

Wonderful setting with amazing food

This B&B includes beautiful grounds, and is an ideal setting for receptions and gatherings. Fresh, whole foods are prepared by a professional chef, and the hospitality is gracious and welcoming.

Nice Location

2,8 en noviembre 20, 2016

The inn is nicely located near hiking areas and interesting small towns to explore. New Paltz is close by for those needing a city experience. The room and bed were comfortable but small. There was no chair and our private bathroom was down the hall. Our room was above the office listened to a repetitve beep from their answering machine all night. I mentioned it to the staff but it persisted through the second night. Breakfast was okay but would have liked a little more options as everyone was served the same thing.

Off the beaten path

We stayed in the Iris room with our 9 and 10 year old. The innkeeper, Hallie, greeted us with cookies and snacks and gave us a tour of the original house. The king bed was too cozy to get out of in the morning and I even tried the pull-out mattress with a brief nap and that was good too. They are converting a loft into a bar. We had breakfast in a large dining room. Breakfast vegetable quiche, citrus-berry oatmeal. We originally chose this inn because we were coming back from a MTB race at Lippman Park. Lunch was on the patio and included an apple-gorgonzola salad and chicken alfredo pasta. The Iris room was a little chilly but the electric fireplace took care of that as well as the cozy bed. We would have liked a sitting room to relax outside our room. The dining room was quickly transformed for our lunch and would suggest that it could be easily done that way for a sitting room and back too.

Perfect place to celebrate the beginning of spring

4,6 en abril 10, 2013

After a long, cold winter we decided to leave the city and head to the country for some grass, trees and beautiful scenery. We love the city but crave some country air when spring finally arrives. We booked a room at the ElmRock and it was perfect. We had the Iris Room--nice size, amazingly comfortable bed, huge bathroom and a lovely outdoor patio where we sat and read and absorbed the so-welcome sunshine. The hosts were great--gave us an excellent recommendation for dinner in nearby New Paltz and served an amazing breakfast of waffles, fruit, bacon, and a fresh fruit smoothie. We will return. And, if you visit, you must take the walk around Lake Minnewaska, about 10 minutes from the Inn. It is spectacular.

A wonderful welcoming inn

4,8 en noviembre 04, 2012

We stayed there for two nights in October. The bed is amazing and the room (and the rest of the inn) is decorated with simplicity and very good taste. Breakfast specially made by Chef Mark was wonderful, rich and tasty. Our room had a private bathroom on the other side of the hall, which was not a problem for us but might be for some. The inn is right on the main road (a country main road that is…not that busy but it's not in a remote location if that's what you're looking for). The location is great for traveling around and Mark was very helpful with suggestions about what to do in the area and how to get there. I highly recommend staying in the Elmrock.

A great Inn & fantastic catering!

5 en julio 21, 2012

I made a weekend of a friend's party by staying at Elm Rock, know the owner was also catering my friend's party. The only thing more delicious than the food was my cozy room - the Toile. Loved the inn, the staff, and the breakfast & hope to be back soon!

My Birthday Party

5 en mayo 26, 2012

May 19, 2012 I had my 60th birthday party at the Inn, 30 of my favorite friends and family were in attendance. The dining area was absolutely beautiful. Appetizers and drinks were on the lovely patio, with spring flowers in bloom. The property was groomed to perfection . The dinner included 3 entrees, and several sides of local foods. It was served table side. Chef Mark's food was cooked to perfection. A sampling of 3 desserts were served and was delicious. I highly recommend this venue, and your out of town guests could stay at the Inn.

Great Place to Stay

4,8 en octubre 27, 2008

I recently stay at this B&B and thought everything was great. The host were nice and friendly. They recommended a great place to eat. Our room was nice and clean and very comfortable. The inn was nicely decorated. The patio was a great place to drink a glass of wine as the sun went down. I will be back!
