Look in the dictionary under "hospitality", and you will see Eileen, Dennis, and Jason. I recently had the privilege of spending several nights in the Maple Room. Every morning you will enjoy a delicious breakfast. This family is dedicated to ensuring your stay is a wonderful experience. The last morning of my stay, I had to leave very early for the flight home. Jason and Eileen came in earlier than usual, before any of the other guests were up, just to make sure I had a breakfast for the long trip home. The rooms are super clean and comfortable and Eileen and Jason can answer any question you may have as to the best places to eat or visit. I did not feel like a guest, but like a member of the family. Should I ever be fortunate to return to this area, I will only stay at the Lightner Farmhouse. You can't beat this value.

I was unable to click the "Outstanding" button for the review, but this B & B was OUTSTANDING!! My daughter and I were impressed from the moment we arrived. Even the other guests were sweet and friendly, which tells me that they felt "at home" too! The Inn was close enough to town to visit, yet far enough away to have a quiet, relaxing stay. I can't wait to go back with my husband.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. The house is well-preserved and we loved learning about its fascinating history. You are only about 2 miles from the battlefield and downtown, so it's super easy to get around to everything. We especially loved our filling and delicious breakfasts and the cookies/tea/coffee you can have at any time. Eileen is very welcoming and sweet. Also, there is a super cute cat to hang out with. We would definitely return!

July 13-25, 2018 we stayed in the Birch Room. We enjoyed our stay at this lovely bed and breakfast. Our hosts were very knowledgeable of the area and its history. Eileen even showed us a brochure of a scenic route we could take on our motorcycle around the city to get away from the crowds. The house had so much history and was beautifully decorated. Our room was cozy and comfortable. Thank you Eileen and Dennis for a wonderful time and for welcoming us into your beautiful home!

My wife and I have talked of a trip to the Gettysburg Battlefields for years. The choice of following the course of the battle was enhanced by our stay at the Lightner Farmhouse B&B. The farmhouse had served as a hospital during the battle. Walking the grounds and fields of the Lightner Farmhouse sets one in the mindset of what those days must have been like. The Hoovers were cordial, friendly and completely understood our desire to experience Gettysburg. The food, outstanding! The Cedar Room with the porch, the fireflies at night and the cellar lounge made this a trip to remember. I can't wait to return

Being very interested in history, I chose to stay at the Lightner B&B because of its connection with the history of the Battle of Gettysburg. I was not disappointed in this regard, because the owners took the time to explain how the house was involved in the aftermath of the battle. The charm of the house and its beautiful grounds really knocked me out, though. I now know where I will stay whenever I visit Gettysburg! - Joe Bordonaro

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the Lightner Farmhouse B&B. Eileen, Dennis and their son Jason were very hospitable and a delightful hosts! They helped us with information about seeing Gettysburg and history of the battle. The property is beautiful and the breakfasts each morning were delicious! There was even a talk given by a local woman who told stories about people from the town during the battle. We highly recommend the Lightner Farmhouse for your stay in Gettysburg!
