My wife and I were quite pleased with this wonderful gem of a facility. On-site hosts were very hospitable and genuinely receptive to us. The room was fantastic and adorned with all of the historic charm the building exterior suggested. The next time we stay in Durham, this is the only location we’ll consider.
Have not had good experience with B & B's until this lucky stay. The comfort, attention to detail, hospitality and overall niceness made this overnight outstanding. The owners are friendly and can entertain you with great conversation if invited. This historic structure is sound and quiet with relaxing grounds. Great food! On site parking was great. Looking forward to staying here again. DL Chandler, Charlotte NC
We stayed at the Morehead Manor in mid March and I was extremely impressed. Our room was ready when we arrived and we received a full tour before being showed our room. After having an amazing breakfast Monica was able to offer great conversation and some insight about a few places we had planned to visit. We are looking forward to future stays at the Morehead Manor. :)
I contacted Morehead Manor to host my mother's birthday weekend. I had never been to a B&B, but she was adamant that she wanted to stay here so I booked it. From the very beginning I spoke with Monica and she was more than accommodating. When we arrived Daniel did everything to ensure that our stay was better than we could imagine. He provided great suggestions of things to do and places to eat in the area. He spoils you with his gourmet breakfast creations like nothing you've ever tasted! We originally wanted to stay in the Tiger Room, but ended up staying in the Magnolia Suite as it was the only one available and it was great! If you're looking for a vacation or even a staycation this is the place to go and get a wonderful relaxing getaway!
This was a most pleasant experience. The owners were very accomodating and took care of all our needs. Monica and Daniel was the epitome of professionalism & kindness. They made you feel like family. I will return for a future stay.
We were seeking a quiet evening away with a romantic dinner to celebrate our anniversary. Arrowhead exceeded our expectations. The place is breathtaking and the food awesome. Gloria and Phil are gracious hosts, and Phil with his pleasant staff served us a wonderful meal and put Champaign and chocolate covered strawberries in our room. I would highly recommend Arrowhead to anyone.
Morehead Manor bed and breakfast offered great hospitality, an amazing breakfast, pleasant conversation with the inn keepers and a great location to all that Durham has to offer. We would absolutely come back and we will be recommending this beautiful B&B to all our friends and family!
My wife and I needed a getaway and found the Arrowhead on line. We could not have been more pleased or treated any better than.here. We have been to many B&B's , but never have been treated the way Phil and Gloria look after their guests. They were fantastic hosts and great new friends. A definite 5 star B&B.

My wife and I stayed at the Morehead Manor B&B for valentines day, It was the first B&B we had ever stayed at and we were amazed, with the hospitality and the steak omlet we had for breakfast was delicious. We are looking forward to staying again in the near future. Jessica & Jerry
We had a wonderful weekend getaway tucked among the old trees in downtown Durham. Very conveniently located and the owners were a great wealth of knowledge on local events and things to do in the area. Would certainly return!
My son and I stayed here while visiting Duke University and it was a gem! Morehead Manor is beautiful and comfortable. It is rare that you get such a combination of beauty and charm but Monica and Daniel have done it. The breakfasts are absolutely amazing and the conversations are delightful. Would highly recommend it!!
We just spent four wonderful days at Arrowhead. It is perfection. We stayed in the huge Brittain room. The bed was SO comfortable with great pillows and a perfect bathroom. It seems every detail has been thought of and tastefully attented to, from comforts to decorations. A beautiful property, beautifully decorated. And the food: every breakfast was a wonder and we had a dinner there as well - great food, beautifully prepared and served. Gloria and Phil are perfect hosts. I can go on and on. My only caveat is that having stayed there we are now thoroughly spoiled for anywhere else.
My mom and I stayed two memorable days at Arrowhead Inn, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The couple who runs it, LOVES what they do, and it shows. Phil Teber is a masterful chef, who infuses love, peace and joy into his culinary creations, which are memorable. The first morning's breakfast was one of the most delicious things I'd ever tasted. Serving gourmet food is an art, and he is a grand artist--even the presentation was beautiful and done with care and attention. Gloria kept herself busy making sure all our needs were met. The feeling guests get is that they CARE and really want to make you happy and at home. Warmth and graciousness augment the pleasure of staying in such a classy place. The place more than lives up to its website's claims of 'grand elegance' and 'private oasis'. It was even better than we expected, because they pay attention to every small detail to make the place one of comfortable and beautiful ambiance. Even the toilet paper roll has a flower crafted into it! The rooms are charming and tastefully decorated with an artist's eye...and much of the woodwork is masterfully crafted by Phil, who is as gifted a carpenter as he is a cook--and he is also a person whose authentic smile never ceases to appear! Highly recommend this place for any kind of traveler seeking a refuge of comfort, beauty, peace and good food! Nice garden, too. I noticed quite a few couples staying there...and it seems like a hugely romantic thing to do...they all looked enraptured. Thanks you to Phil and Gloria Teber for a memorable experience. We'll be back!
Phil and Gloria were very friendly and accomodated many last minute requests (even making us a delicious dinner set by candle light) and took many other extra steps to make sure our special day was very special. The food was excellent at dinner and for breakfast. I have zero complaints about the experience.
Outstanding! Phil and Gloria were so welcoming and awesome. The food was great, the bathroom and in room tub were spotless and well taken care of. I thought having the tub in the bedroom would be strange but it wasn't, It felt cozy and thought out.
Arrived late and departed after breakfast. Had a great nights sleep in a very comfortable bed. In room tub and fireplace were a nice feature. Excellent breakfast, scones with lemon curd were the best we ever had.
Visited The Manor at the end of June on a "girls weekend get-away". I cannot offer enought applause. The inn is a beautiful, well appointed mini mansion. Located on a lovely, peaceful street with lush landscaping, I felt safe, cozy. Everyroom offered elegant comfort, with each bedroom actually a suite with its own bathroom! I forgot I wasn't visiting family or friends! The "Innkeepers" (host and hostess) were most welcoming and treated us as family guests. The food was always delicious!!We were offered detailed information about downtown history & sights, restaurants and shopping. It was a fun, "zen" weekend and look forward to returning!
Spent my birthday weekend at Morehead Manor. I could not have been more pampered. The Inn is absolutely beautiful, the food is outstanding and the hospitality of Daniel and Monica Edwards surpassed my greatest expectations. It was truly a treat!
Morehead Manor is a lovely mansion with an even more lovely owner. Monica was helpful and very available in person and, when necessary, via cell phone. The location is fabulous--easy walking distance to the Bull's stadium/shopping area as well as the Brightleaf shopping area. The two-bed room was perfect for me and my daughter. Breakfast was fabulous--homemade zucchini waffles (try 'em --they are awesome) with berries and whipped cream on top with turkey sausage. It's also just a 5-minute drive to Duke's campus!
This was our first stop on our annual Girls Road Trip, and it definitely started us off in style. The innkeepers were so gracious and friendly. We stayed in the Carolina Cabin, and it was fantastic. We marveled at how clean the cabin (including cozy bedroom loft) was. It was such a comfortable stay. The breakfasts were delicious, and we had dinner at the Inn on one of our nights, and it was fabulous (a highlight). My daughter had dietary restrictions, and the chef worked with them so well. The grounds were beautiful. It was simply the perfect way to start our vacation. Thank you!
