We had a wonderful time even though the weather was very uncooperative. The staff was great and the manager a delight to work with. Don't want to rave too much because we want our room back for the next trip!

Finding a room in Charleston during the peak season is no easy feat. Finding one for a reasonable price is a miracle. I couldn't believe out luck when we stumbled upon 27 State Street. Spacious rooms, a lovely 2nd floor veranda, and just steps from Waterfront Park, other attractions and excellent dining. We walked everywhere we wanted to go without trouble. Only drawbacks: if you book the Wurdeman's study, which we did, you have to park in one of the city garages a few blocks away. Also the bed in that room isn't the most comfortable.

My husband and I took a weekend trip for a wedding in Isle of Palms. We decided to make it a long weekend and were very pleased with this bed and breakfast. The location was amazing, the staff was pleasant, the courtyard was peaceful and breakfast was tasty. I would really recommend this place to anyone.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the 27 state st. inn. We sayed in the Wurdman study which was very spacious even though it is listed as the smallest room. The courtyard is beautiful and the view from the upper courtyard where breakfast is served is wonderful. All of the staff was very freindly and helpful. They made our (very late) check-in quite easy. I would absoluely stay here again!

The State Room's vaulted ceilings and exposed brick walls seem the essence of Charleston's European style charm. All of the rooms are located within the main building's original stables. In the State Room, you can still open the large bay doors into the old brick courtyard. A queen-sized rice bed fits perfectly with the antique furnishings, including a vintage hope chest at the foot of the bed. The room features fresh flowers, a large full bath, and tall plantation doors. Hundred-year-old oak floors cover the length of the room. Accommodates 2 guests. Parking is a short two blocks from the Inn in the Charleston County Parking Garage at a maximum daily rate of $20.00.
