We traveled from Chicago to Michigan for Holland's Tulip Time. I came across The Hotel Saugatuck online and I am so delighted that I did. It is everything the other reviewers say it is. Great location, Clean, New, Amazing attention to detail and guest comforts. Highly recommend!
We had never stayed at a B&B before but were pleasantly surprised and would definitely do it again - especially this one. It was clean and had great service and excellent food! Breakfast was delicious each morning, and we enjoyed sitting on the front enclosed porch to eat. There is a fridge for guests' use, and cookies and snacks out each day. We used the Economy Special from the website and originally booked the Courtyard room, but got upgraded to the Majestic Suite upon arrival - definitely recommend using the specials! The room was spacious and comfortable. It has an electric fireplace which we used because it was chilly when we were there, and it warmed up the room quickly. The room also has a huge private balcony. The bathroom was clean and had toiletries provided. The location of the B&B is perfect, steps away from the beach and a short walk to the downtown area.
This was my first experience at a B&B and now I'm hooked! The inn is updated and modern but still has many of the original features that made us feel like we were in an older home. The rooms were sound proof and very clean. My husband and I highly recommend.
It was a cozy, excellent experience. The innkeepers were terrific and friendly. The place was clean, quaint and very affordable. We enjoyed it so much we will be back again soon.
Thank you to the Castle in the Country proprietors and staff for making my recent stay such a positive one. The room was spacious and beautifully appointed; the bed was extremely comfortable; and the entire experience was warm and welcoming. I will definitely return in the future.
It's beautiful, romantic, very well-kept, and well-situated, and our hosts were so friendly and attentive! We keep kosher, and we were really hoping to find a romantic b-and-b that would work with us to make us a kosher breakfast (using our pots, pans, utensils). Sean was an absolute pleasure to work with, easygoing and understanding, and I highly recommend the lovely Hotel Saugatuck to everybody!
Good food, nice rooms, and a very quick drive to the downtown and beach area. Host was very helpful in recommending places to check out. The convenience of a Meijer grocery store nearby to pick up things we forgot was also very nice. I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone else considering!
We had a great stay at the Serendipity! David and June were very friendly and made sure that we felt right at home. I've been dreaming about the cheddar scones from breakfast. Had a great time here and would highly recommend it!
My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary weekend and were blown away by the luxurious accommodations and attention to every detail. They have thought of everything...(clocks project on ceiling, gas fire places, snack baskets, fridge with a freezer, coffee, microwave, fancy showers and jetted tubs, super soft sheets and thick towels). There was an area to sit and read (both inside and outside), a two-way fireplace, spa-like bathrooms and just overall beautifully appointed. We loved the close proximity to so many things to do, access to bikes, offerings of Saugatuck/Douglas, and the views of the water. We highly recommend it and hope to spend more anniversaries here in the future! Well done, Hotel Saugatuck! Outstanding renovation and definitely THEE place to stay in Saugatuck!
We wanted a night away, no entertainment or activity, just a place to get a break from the daily grind. This B & B was perfect. Our room was immaculately clean, quite an accomplishment for historic houses because of the trim and details not found in modern construction. David and June presented a very hospitable experience, with a wonderful breakfast that was high quality in its preparation and presentation. David and June are very welcoming, yet nuanced in their sense for guest's desire to be alone. We had a wonderful time, and will be going back again.
I would highly recommend Monroe Manor. It's out in the country but close enough to be in downtown South Haven in minutes. Very high quality bedding and towels. The people running were very nice and professional. All made for a great stay. What made the stay a great experience was the breakfasts. I like to cook and living near Chicago I have a high bar when it comes to impressing blame but I was. I still can't get over the bacon. I can't wait to go back.
We stayed in the Library Suite because we wanted privacy. A bit pricey, but absolutely worth it! Roomy, comfortable cottage-type suite. Charming decor and great care taken in providing all the comforts of home. We needed a quiet weekend of rest with a little shopping, good food, talc, etc. Breakfast was tasty, not sumptuous, but very well prepared and delivered in a charming basket placed quietly (and not too early) outside our door. We will definitely stay here again!
My mother, sister, & I stayed at Serendipity for a weekend getaway. We loved the Rose & Iris rooms which were very comfortable and clean. The bathroom was just for our rooms and also very clean and well supplied. Breakfasts were delicious, with fresh fruit, fresh baked goods, and a hearty egg dish each day. The location couldn't be better. We would definitely come back!
Everything was great, except there wasn't any coffee in the suite. We had our breakfast delivered, but it would have been nice to have a cup of coffee in the room, before 9:15. Everything else was wonderful!
This Bed & Breakfast was absolutely wonderful. The rooms were clean & service was great. Wish we would have gotten a bit more food during breakfast, but overall it was great! Definitely will be going back :)
The owners, John & Jitka go out of their way to make sure your stay is comfortable and their morning breakfast is outstanding!! It's only 6 miles into ST JOSESPH'S and so much to do! WELL WORTH THE STAY!!
We have stayed at many B&B's and we know what to expect. The Sand Castle is in a great location. Close to beach and Downtown. That being said it is looking shabby. Needs painting, rooms need to be up dated and the porch could use some new furniture. Breakfast was good, the staff very friendly and the pool was very nice. Would stay again but I hope they fix the Place up before we decide to come back.
Could not be any happier with our choice of B&B in Saugatuck; we stayed in their Stableman's Suite (loft style layout) and it was super roomy - which felt even bigger with the vaulted ceiling. Had its own kitchen countertop/sink (no stove though!) and a nice fridge where we stored fruit and the leftover scones from our first breakfast. The breakfast in our room was delivered to our door in a picnic basket each morning. The meals were piping hot and savory - accompanied by scone/blueberry coffee cake and mixed fruits each morning. Fantastic way to start a morning! Only suggestion would be hot sauce packets of some kind with the breakfast? service was slamming too, david was always available by phone when we needed him. Highly recommend!
The only negative thing that occurred, was a helasious noise one evening in a close proximity to the back bedroom, which kept my friend up all evening, and she complained to me about it the next morning. I did not hear the noise, as my bedroom was in the front of the house. I called it to David's (innkeeper) attention, he figured out the problem to be the watersoftner which recycled at 2:00 AM. David adjusted the timer on the watersoftner to recycle during the day when were out, thus the problem was solved.
Spent two nights in the Monroe Room. The room and Inn were quaintly decorated. The Inn location in a quiet area, away from town noises, was a plus for us. The bed was very comfortable and the shower divine. The breakfasts were outstanding. We met Nancy and she was very helpful with activities and restaurants in town. We will definitely stay again.
Had a recent two night stay with some friends for a girls weekend. Our stay at Serendipity was great. The location close to downtown, once we arrived we didn't need to drive during our stay. Accommodations were perfect for us; plenty of room to hang out and visit. We loved the enclosed front porch. Breakfast was wonderful; brought to our suite every morning. The innkeepers were very friendly and available for any questions. Suggested activities. This was not my first stay at the b & b and won't be the last
