We stayed at the Gloucester Place Tobago for a week. We loved the house, the view and the facilities. But most of all we loved the hospitality from Bea and Win. It felt like being home. We had lovely breakfast every morning and they also cooked for us the last evening. They also helped us to arrange different tours like going to little Tobago and hiring a car. Which wa inevitable since it's difficult to get around on the island without. The area is very quiet and the beaches are stunning. We wouldn't hesitate coming back another time to Bea and Win.

We spent Easter (2016) weekend in the main house at Gloucester Place. What a great location to stay. Bea and Win are terrific hosts. Breakfast is amazing. Other meals may be prearranged although we did not explore that option. The building is very nice, very solidly built and therefore essentially sound proof. The room and bathroom are adequately sized and ours had a veranda. They know the area very well of course and were full of suggestions as to where to eat and what to do. The location on the island is ideal from our point of view. Being on the western side of the island there is less wind making it a peaceful site. It is also near the northern end of the island where the vegetation is greener, prettier all around. The view from the main veranda is beautiful. The garden is very lush. The infinity pool, although small, is a great way to cool off in the afternoon while enjoying the view at the same time. There are several very nice beaches nearby. We went to the two closer ones and enjoyed them very much. Englishman’s Bay beach has a small restaurant for lunch and drinks throughout the day. Not far away is the road through the Main Ridge Forest Reserve, established in 1776. Amazing. The Gilpin Trace comes off that road and is a must see for people with an interest in birds. Unless you are an expert birder, a guide is essential to make the most of the walk. Renting a vehicle is necessary and Bea or Win can arrange a rental. They recommend Taylor Rental. The service was excellent and the owner was very responsive to a minor issue I had (not really an issue at all). I am sure that you will enjoy your stay with Bea and Win as well as enjoy this part of Tobago should you decide to stay there.

On this delightful island, with lovely people, we were privileged to stay at Gloucester Place. in the most beautiful North West. Bea and Wynn, our hosts, were so helpful and generous - even to making a meal for the guests when all the restaurants seemed to be closed due to Carnival the next day. Its a wonderful setting, with beautiful walks nearby. Perfect place to unwind.

Staying at Gloucester Place is like visiting the home of very good friends whose house just happens to have a spectacular view of the Caribbean, a refreshing swimming pool, and a garden populated by tropical birds. Your charming and attentive hosts, Bea and Win Sargent, start you off each morning with a terrific breakfast, assist you with everything from car rentals to laundry to restaurant reservations, lend you books, and generally go out of their way to help you navigate and enjoy Tobago. Both are fountains of friendly information and advice about where to go and what to do. Both seem to know and like everyone in and around Parlatuvier and Castara (and vice versa). Having lived in such diverse places as Iran, Sri Lanka, Venezuela and North Carolina, they are well prepared by temperament and experience to embrace visitors from all over the world. Indeed, sharing breakfast and conversation with fellow guests from England and Canada was an unanticipated highlight of our stay. We have stayed in a lot of b&b's in a lot of places, but none better than this. We look forward to coming back.

My wife and I stayed at Gloucestor place for 3 nights and it was a beautiful and relaxing stay. Our hosts Bea and Wyn were open and friendly and we were made to feel comfortable and free to enjoy the place as our own. The rooms were comfortable, clean and we slept very well in the beds. Breakfast with the other guests was very enjoyable and we also cooked an evening meal together. The surrounding areas are absolutely stunning and it is a fantastic place to make your base to enjoy Tobago and relax for a few days. We are already planning our next visit back there hopefully taking some other people.

We travelled April 2015 with our 3 year old son. We couldn't have asked for more on arriving in Tobago and staying at Win & Bea's beautiful home, Gloucester Place. From the first greeting they made us all feel at home and relaxed. We settled into our room - the Lexington Suite which was a little more spacious than the other rooms, perfect for the 3 of us and the bed was huge so plenty big enough for our son to sleep in it too! We were then welcomed with a beer on the terrace overlooking the Caribbean Sea with views of a spectacular blow hole, then headed to the pool for a refreshing swim. Parlatuvier is beautiful and we enjoyed watching the fishermen bring in and gut their catch in the afternoons on the jetty while huge sting rays circled in the water. We swam in the deliciously cool waterfalls which are a small hike from the village. And we visited many stunningly untouched beaches. Win & Bea are natural hosts. They are open, friendly, interesting, fun and kind people who made our stay all the better. They spoiled our 3 year old rotten and dedicated his own cup to him, gave him biscuits and anything else he hankered for. The property is gorgeous, cleverly designed to make the most of the extraordinarily stunning surroundings and our only regret is that we didn't stay longer. It's a real slice of paradise and Win & Bea are exceptional hosts!

Spent a lovely time at Gloucester place with Bea and Winn. Infinity pool and deck were perfect. Winn gave us a little driving tour of the area. Renting a car is propbably best though we didn't for the first couple days. Taylor rentals was great and dropped off a car to the B&B when we needed. Great experience.

We had a wonderful stay in this well situated, comfortable cottage (Essex). Our hosts were so accommodating and generous - they gave us great advice on where to go and where to dine. They are truly warm, kind and helpful people. The views from the cottage are sublime: endless blue sea and lush greenery. We enjoyed the lovely birds that came to the feeder on the terrace, too. There is no A/C or wifi in the cottage (there is in the nearby house), but we were very comfortable and enjoyed being able to cook our own meals. It's spacious, well-equipped and private. Breakfast on the terrace gazing at the sea was very special. This part of the island is perfect for exploring Tobago because it's gorgeous, near the best beaches, and far away from the more dispiritingly developed parts of the island.

We feel very lucky to have selected this great B and B for our stay in Tobago. We intentionally chose a spot away from the madding crowds and were very glad. The quiet is so relaxing and the views stunning! Both the house and grounds are well kept, beautifully planned and seduce you to stay and hang out. Bea and Win are extremely pleasant hosts who not only made delicious breakfasts but also helped with trip planning before the fact and made numerous suggestions to help us while there. While the nearby town of Casteras has a good selection of restaurants which we sampled on a number of evenings we were glad not to be staying there as the noise goes on into the wee hours. The adjacent village of Parlatuvier is unspoiled and a quick walk down some stairs...and a not-so-quick walk back. We had a car, really a must, and explored the beautiful northern part of Tobago from gorgeous, almost deserted beaches to great rain forest hikes, complete with the rain. The driving was fine even for those of us not used to left hand drive. The cows, goats and dogs in the road guaranteed you were paying attention! If returning to Tobago I would definitely head here again

My wife and I spent a glorious week at Gloucester Place in February. Leaving Canada that time of year for the warmth of Tobago shortened our winter, to be sure, but this was no ordinary B&B, and Tobago is no ordinary tourist island. It was our first trip to this island, and we loved it. The population is small, much of the island is undeveloped (great walks, extensive bird population), and the villages are mainly local people. We sought out a location on Tobago that took us away from the main centres, and that turned out to be an excellent decision. It took us about 90 minutes, driving slowly, to make our way to Bea and Winn’s place with a rental car, and that drive gave us an excellent opportunity to start appreciating the island. I wouldn’t want to make the trip at night, since the roads are narrow and driving is on the left, but during the day the drive was lovely. Staying next to Parlatuvier, the tiny (actual) fishing village, allowed us to walk over (10 minutes) or drive (3 minutes) to swim, or walk, or talk with the fishermen. We also ate a few meals there, including two at a terrific private home, on the veranda a few steps from the beach. Ask Bea to call for reservations. Gloucester Place itself was as stunning as the pictures and website suggest. We stayed in the Carlisle room, with a balcony overlooking the tree tops, the surf below, and the birds nudging us out of our sleep every morning. Breakfasts were delicious (thank you Bea, and Wyn), and we spent countless hours simply sitting by the pool outside the house, reading, drinking, reading, listening to the birds, dipping into the pool, reading…. We returned home calmer, happier, with great memories. We’d return in a heartbeat. Michel and Ellen Desjardins
The Concord is a corner room with large windows overlooking the sea in two directions. I has a queen sized bed and a built in dresser and closet with plenty of space for clothes and luggage. The attached private bathroom has a built in shower and spacious vanity sink with cabinet. The room connects directly to the upper veranda which has chairs, loungers to use for reading, or sunbathing and a table for drinks and snacks. There are stairs that bring you to the garden and main level of the guest house.
$120 - $150
The Carlisle is a queen room with a private balcony overlooking the sea and forest reserve. There is a spacious closet, a set of drawers and a place to store your luggage. The ensuite bathroom has a large shower, plenty of extra towels and a hair dryer. From the balcony guests have been able to identify over 23 species of both land and sea birds. It is also a great place to watch the fishing boats go out to sea in the morning and then come back with their catch later in the afternoon. The room is on the upper floor next to a sitting area with games and puzzles for our guests to use.
$100 - $130
Lexington is our largest room. It has twin beds which, with the addition of another mattress, convert to a king-sized bed. Furnishings also include two arm chairs and a table. There is a built-in closet with plenty of space to hang clothes and drawers as well. It has a fully equipped attached bathroom with a large shower, vanity sink, hair dryer and plenty of towels. There is space to add a third bed if needed. The exterior door opens onto a short walkway leading to the veranda and stairs down to the garden.
$120 - $150

Take the Claude Noel highway from the airport to the fourth stoplight at the junction with Northside Road. Turn left and drive through Mason Hall and Moraiah. Go straight at the junction through Castara and past Englishman's Bay to the Welcome to Parlatuvier sign. Continue about 2 km to 955 Northside Rd., Parlatuvier, which is just before the overlook of Parlatuvier Bay. This information is on our mail box.
