This was our first ever stay at a Bed and Breakfast. We did not quite know what to expect. We loved our Latte Room. We had a private entrance, which Vicki chose, specifically for us since we were first timers. Breakfast was to die for. I never knew you could have dessert at the third course. I feel so deprived that I missed this my whole life. LOL. The Best part..we could pick our own time for our yummy breakfast or was it the coffee and homemade biscotti delivered outside our room every morning or was it our great host and hostess Vicki and Wayne who are fun, friendly and made us feel so welcomed? We can't decide which it was so I guess this means we need to go back again to figure it out. Michael and Marika

My wife and I stayed in The Sweet for a night celebrating her birthday. We live in McKinney, but had not stayed here before. Vicki was a friendly hostess and great cook. We didn't get to meet Wayne. The whole place was beautiful. Our suite was comfy. We highly recommend this place!

Staying at the McKinney Bed and Breakfast was the best decision my husband and I made for a weekend mini-getaway. The house is gorgeous and no detail has been left out. Each room is immaculate, comfortable and unique, as well as private. However, the true charm lies with the owners. Their charm and personality makes this a once-in-a-lifetime kind of retreat. Plus, the feast of a breakfast is to die for. If you are ever in McKinney, don't even think about staying anywhere else. Make your memories with the Hills at McKinney B&B!
The Sweet, a beautiful large upstairs suite, offers 3 rooms: a totally separate private sitting room, a full bathroom, and a bedroom with a queen bed and a twin bed. Spacious and filled with natural light, it has 2 comfortable chairs, a dresser, a vanity table, a table, a small fridge, and even an electric fireplace. A unique nook filled with interesting books has a comfy spot for burrowing in with a good book and even a nap!
This lovely first-floor room was the heart of the home 130 years ago. There are bricks inside the walls from the old fireplaces and furnace flues, making for the quietest and most peaceful night's rest you've had in a long time. The Green Room is named for a surfing term, and described by surfers who have experienced it as the ultimate euphoric state in surfing. Once a surfer has experienced the green room (to be under the curl of a huge green wave) he or she knows the meaning of "time standing still". The Green Room is located at the end of a private hallway on the main floor of the house. It has a small reading nook, closet, shelves, 3 tables, reading lights, and 2 comfortable chairs. It is encircled in art and books. A beautifully renovated completely private bathroom is located just outside the bedroom door with a large shower, fluffy towels, personal-size shampoo and conditioner, shower gel, lotion, and make-up removers. Blow-dryer and great natural light included.
They say that the best things come in small packages, and there is no doubt that this applies to the lovely little Latte Room. In its former life this warm, intimate guest room was a parlor. But now there's a charming cast iron vessel sink and a funky glass tile shower where the old fireplace once was. The Latte Room earned its name from a favorite Canadian guest who said it was like a luscious latte! One gracious guest said it felt like a warm hug. A lush queen-size bed is surrounded by books and makes for the perfect romantic getaway from those screaming kids. Or grandkids. Or bosses. Or just those little voices in your head. From the front porch, the Latte Room is completely closed off from the rest of the house with it's own separate keyed entrance, making your time in the Latte Room feel extra private. Enjoy access to the main house at any time during your stay, but with a table for two and a couple of rockers just steps outside your door, you may never want to leave. The ensuite bathroom (cool B&B word that means private and accessible only from the bedroom) has a large glass tiled shower with a rain-style shower head. It is stocked with soft towels, shower gel, travel-size toiletries, and a blowdryer.

Barquillos y Fried Chicken; Pecho Hash
