A Must if you love B&Bs!

5 en septiembre 15, 2018

If you enjoying staying at B&Bs, then please treat yourself to a stay here. You won’t be disappointed. Spectacularly and historically restored down to the tiniest detail... we are so grateful to Cliff and Chris for providing such a beautiful home to appreciate and enjoy. A weekend stay would make a wonderful way to celebrate a special occasion or as a unique wedding gift. We had a wonderful time...and be sure to ask to see the antique shop where you will likely find something to remember your stay. Many thanks to our hosts!

Visiting the (improved) past

Stunning! Magnificent, 11,000-sq.-ft. manor house in spectacular setting. Talk about atmosphere! An incredible home, furnished exactly as if it were the 1920s, but totally updated with modern comforts and amenities. The gorgeous woodwork in the grand two-story entrance hall was imported from England during the 20s, giving it the feeling of an English country manor. Room after splendid room of authentic period antiques. Even with all the grandiosity, the house is still comfortable, including central AC. Chiming clocks, working Victrola, and period radios. Cliff, the owner, is most welcoming, the breakfast is delicious, and Molly the dog is a sweetheart..Beautiful views of the inn's 50 acres and mountain ridge from rocking chairs on the back porch. We are readers and really appreciated the cozy study/library.Be sure to ask Cliff about the fascinating history of the house and his loving restoration of it. Thomas Jefferson was a guest of the house (when it was a tavern) so were we, and that is very cool. Worth seeking out!

Fantastic B&B

Our stay at Forest Oaks was a complete pleasure. The owners Cliff and Chris were very friendly and so accommodating to all of our needs. The home itself is a treasure from 1806 and they have done an amazing job restoring and redecorating. While there we met several guests that had already been there as many as 4-5 times before and it has only been open not even a year at this point. That pretty much says it all right there. Also right next to door to Natural Bridge and only 20 minutes to Lexington.

Great Hosts and Wonderful Accomodations!

The Inn at Forest Oaks

5 en julio 26, 2018

The Inn at Forest Oaks is incredible and absolutely the perfect retreat to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The hosts Chris and Cliff are gracious and inviting and certainly make you feel at home. It was a joy to spend time speaking with them both and learning not only the history of the property, but how the dream of Forest Oaks came to life. The meticulous attention to detail through out the manor immediately transports you back in time to a majestic and simpler time while providing all the modern day comforts. I loved not having TV in the rooms and spending the time exploring the grounds, seeing the surrounding area, and reconnecting with my wife. The breakfast is to die for and we thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the other guests as we all had breakfast together. My wife and I have already started looking at our calendar and thoroughly look forward to our next visit.

Outstanding

We happened upon Forest Oaks on our way down to South Carolina from New York. Our stay here was the highlight of our trip. Cliff and Chris are truly gifted and love what they do as is evident in the remarkable way they have not only restored but have brought life back into this beautiful home. We continue to rave about this rare gem and are already talking about needing to find time to go back and staying longer next time.

Perfect Weekend Getaway

Chris & Cliff are the most gracious hosts imaginable. From the moment we entered, to the time we left, they made sure all our needs were met. We could of spent a week walking the historical house looking at every detail they have put together or the entire day walking the grounds. Breakfast served each day was perfect and well received by all. Very close to the Natural Bridge. Thank you Chris & Cliff for making our stay so memorable.

A mansion & a museum - a beautiful place to be!

This dreamlike B&B sits on the green rolling hills of Virginia but it looked like Ireland as far as the eye could see! Our beautifully furnished room complete with a fireplace made me think of the movie...”Somewhere in Time”. I truly felt like I belonged among these royal trappings! The entire first floor was available for us to wander and view the most fantastic antique furnishings. The polished wood stairway is a great place for photos and if I recall correctly, it came from England and was assembled in the house. And, breakfast was served in the elegant dining room that would suit Lady Mary! We wanted a stopping place between PA and NC along our East Coast road trip. The Inn is situated close to the highway yet worlds away from your average B & B! I highly recommend that if Natural Bridge, VA is in your travel plan you too will come away delighted. The bad news is that for the rest of our travels, nothing even came close to The Inn at Forest Oaks!

Best B&B

I feel blessed to have experienced this beautiful historic home. The owners were friendly and generous with their time of sharing some of the home’s history. Coffee on the veranda in a rocking chair with a gorgeous view will be memorable. Can’t wait to return to share with someone else.

Amazing experience!

It was such a wonderful stay. The inn keepers were wonderful, the food was delicious, the view from the back porch was breath taking. I could have sipped my coffee and rocked my day away. We will be back!
