My husband and I stayed at Cedars of Williamsburg in late April as part of a driving trip from Pennsylvania to our home in Florida. We stayed in the George Washington Suite, which is a spacious room that also has a separate sitting room. This room is located on the first floor and is the closest room to the front door. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The new owner Alex acted as host at breakfast and he made everyone feel welcome and comfortable. Our breakfasts were very good, well prepared and presented. We highly recommend Cedars of Williamsburg. Be aware that the bathrooms tend to be small, typical for a home of its time period.

Just back from our 2nd stay at Cedars. Alex is a fantastic host. He and his staff make everyone feel so comfortable. It truly is like being a guest in his home. Breakfast is something to look forward too each morning. On Easter Sunday, Alex cooked a delicious ham accompanied with poached eggs in a "nest". Beautiful! The location is great, right across the street from the W&M campus and an easy walk to the historic district. Our granddaughter is finishing her first year at W&M and we wouldn't consider staying anywhere else each time we visit for the next 3 years.

We stayed one night on the (small and inexpensive) Martha Washington room, while in Williamsburg for an exhibit at the art museum. The Cedars is directly across the street from the museum and the university. It is an easy walk to the old town with dining and shops. Breakfast was very tasty, but not overwhelming like it can be at B & Bs. For a longer stay, I'd recommend a larger room. Otherwise a big thumbs up.

This B&B was beautiful, nice "homey" feel. Housekeeping was super nice, and everything looked and smelled so clean! The only drawback was the breakfast. It was tasty, but there wasn't much offered.

We stayed in the Lincoln Room. We enjoyed it...just know that it's an old structure so the heating system and bathroom layout reflect the limitations of the old building.

The Cedars is located directly across from William and Mary and an easy walk to the historic area of Williamsburg. We only used our car for a side trip to Jamestown. The owners are a young couple who recently acquired the property. They are enthusiastic and working hard to make staying at their property a unique experience. While we were there, they tried several new, delicious recipes for breakfast. Our room was large with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was smallish, but this is an older building and to be expected. Everyone was friendly and accommodating.
The Peyton Randolph Room is the first floor bed chamber of the Cottage that reflects Mr. Randolph's love of patriotic simplicity and family coziness. The fireplace, king size bed, day bed, mini-refrigerator, colonial decor, and private bath give this a lovely, romantic and homey feel.
This cozy first floor room has an oriental flair and soft beauty that the First Lady herself would enjoy. The antique four-poster bed, converted to queen size for today's comfort, is the focal point of this quaint, intimate bed chamber. Blue, white and yellow wallpaper and window treatments are rich, warm accents in this comfortable room.
William "Billy" Lee was the personal valet of George Washington for most of his life. William accompanied Washington regularly on surveying missions, battles, and visits to the House of Burgesses in Williamsburg. Upon Washington's death, Lee was given a $30 pension, freedom to live at Mount Vernon, and was the only one of Washington's 124 slaves freed outright. Tucked into a quiet corner of the house, this charming room features a queen size, four-poster bed evoking early American atmosphere and peaceful refuge. The William Lee Room offers a bed chamber with a fabric backdrop and large bathroom with a tub and shower.
Lawyer and politician Patrick Henry was elected to the Virginia House of Burgesses in 1765. It was that year that he proposed his Stamp Act Resolutions which some have called the "first shot fired" in the Revolutionary War. Admist your activities in this ever-changing world, allow yourself time for respite and reflection in our Patrick Henry Room. Surrounded by beautifully adorned windows on three sides, this, our largest room, is perfect for anniversaries or honeymoons. A king size, four-poster bed, a dormer window seat, and a large bath addto the luxury and romance.
This airy, spacious room is designed as inventively and creatively as if conceived by Mr. Jefferson himself. The queen size bed, window alcove, and two-level bath create a charm that is only enhanced by Williamsburg Yellow woodwork and Delft blue fabrics. An antique writing desk and comfy wing chair complete the colonial picture.
Rebecca Rolfe - known as a girl by the nickname Pocahontas - was the favorite daughter of Wahunsenacawh (known to the English as Chief Powhatan). Her name was changed upon her conversion to Christianity and her marriage to planter John Rolfe helped bring peace on the Peninsula for many years. Her namesake room emphasizes this peaceful setting with floor to ceiling floral draperies and the fishnet-canopied, four-poster queen size bed. This lovely room provides a glimpse of pastoral respite from the demands of today. This second floor room, white with Apothecary Shop blue trim, overlooks the tops of our cedar trees just outside one of the many windows.
Bask in the grace and sophisticated charm of our George Washington room. On the first floor, the high ceilings of this large, elegant suite are enhanced with a queen size, carved mahogany, canopied bed and an antique armoire. The windowed parlor floods the room with warm afternoon sunlight, providing the perfect spot to curl up after a day of adventure and fun.
Our two bedroom suite is the perfect accommodation for a family. The bath separates one room with a queen size, four poster bed from the other twin-bed room. Occupying half of our second floor, this room arrangement offers both the togetherness of colonial tavern lodging and the privacy desired by today's 21st century traveler. Sleeps four comfortably.
This stately room is richly appointed with an antique highboy, regal striped draperies, and bed stairs to help you climb into the elegant, four poster, king size bed. As you begin your exploration of colonial America, the decor of this bed chamber will help you experience the excitement and enthusiasm of our new nation.
Perfect for a gathering of friends or family, the Cedars Cottage is ideal for couples traveling together or families with children. Both Cottage rooms (Lord Botetourt & Peyton Randolph) are for socializing, comfort and closeness during the day while offering quiet privacy at night. The Peyton Randolph (downstairs) has a large king size bed and daybed. The Lord Bortetourt (upstairs) has a queen, sitting area and library. Both with fireplaces & coffee pot. The cottage offers two cozy, separate rooms in one. Each with their own bath. bathroom.
Queen Mary, a mother herself, often traveled with children and a chamber maid. This room is perfect for traveling companions wanting their own bed and pillow...no wrestling for the blankets. Reserve just the Queen Mary or see about our King William and Queen Mary Suite (two room suite)...a connecting bath makes this suite perfect for couples or families traveling together.
