Very relaxing!!!!! Everything we needed was in the cabin. The food was wonderful. All of the staff made sure all of your needs were met. We had several conversations with Paula and Marjorie and Jerry even stopped cooking to step in to the dining room to check with us/the diners. It was quite obvious that their guests are their first priority. THANK YOU ALL!!!!
Makes us wish we got to Ohio more often. Excellent service in a beautiful setting with outstanding rooms and facilities and without pretentiousness or superficial friendliness. We had a great time and enjoyed our stay beyond our expectations
Wonderful place to relax and unwind. The firepit was very enjoyable in the evening and breakfast was awesome! The bed was very comfortable and room/bathroom clean & spacious. Also, the staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. Great spot to get away from it all!.
My wife and I recently stayed here to observe a quiet weekend for our 45th Anniversary. The food was well presented and delicious. The inn room was comfortable and clean. Sitting around the fire pit in the evening and visiting with the other guests is always enjoyable. The Innkeepers and staff are dedicated to making your stay as perfect as can be. We will be planning our next visit for the Fall very soon.
The Celebration cabin was the perfect first anniversary spot: no TV, lots of birdsong, a jacuzzi tub and fireplace. Wave after wave of thunder and lightning on our first night simply enhanced the cozy magic. The food was delicious and cheerfully served, accommodating my vegetarian requests without hestitation. The trails were a pleasant diversion and the nearby Edge of Appalachia Preserve areas offered more challenging hikes. If you can, stay two nights to really unplug, try the pizza fired in their hand built oven if it's offered, and father with other guests around the fire pit after dinner. It wasn't until we were checking out and I read other guests' notes inthe little notebook in our cabin that I saw they'd have been willing to deliver breakfast to our room; I might have tried that if I'd known. Everyone we met had been there before, and I'm sure we will return.
We stayed in one of the cabins. Every part of the cabin inside and out was clean, comfortable and inviting. We had a little greeter on our porch by the name of Jack (cat), he walked the trails on the property with us that day. We like that extra touch whether it is a cat or dog! That evening we had one of the most delicious meals we have had in a long time at a B&B. There was no television in the cabin, cards, checkers and games a Jacuzzi; it was wonderful. The first night it rained and you could hear it on the roof top. After a delicious breakfast we came back to the room, pulled our chairs over in front of the fireplace, had another cup of coffee and relaxed more! We will be back for sure, already talking about coming back in late fall. Last but not least the staff was friendly and very efficient and the chef made outstanding dishes! We would like to thank them all for what was truly the best experience at a B&B we have had in a long time!
The cabin was amazingly--comfy, bright with all the amenities. The food at breakfast and dinner was superb -- tasty and fresh. The mushroom soup was the best I have had! The people were friendly and welcoming. All in all, a wonderful place to spend a fun, relaxing weekend.
We stayed in the main lodge. The rooms were quiet and comfortable with a great view out across the lawn and fields. We had breakfasts and dinners at the Inn. The food was good and the portions generous, so we had leftovers for lunches. In the daytime we hiked the property, drove to nearby parks, and went bicycling. In the evening we sat in front of the fire pit and talked with another couple.
This Inn is over a mile off the highway. It is truly secluded, and beautiful. Lots of space to just hang out and be with Nature. The breakfasts and dinners were homemade and delicious. We will definitely return.
The most amazing weekend we have had, the food was outstanding, the Inn Keepers and staff were beyond exemplary. Grounds are well kept, cabins are clean. Great place to go and relax. We will definitely visit again.
The Murphin Ridge is our favorite local getaway. We have been going well over 20 years. Jerry and Marjorie are the third owners and they are great. The cabins are our favorite and we even had breakfast in our Cabin. The food served was world class. I had the best pork chop in my life! Murphin Ridge is in the heart of Amish Country and there are a lot of activities such as hiking and antiquing. You cannot pick a better getaway.
If you are searching for a romantic cabin, a tranquil setting, outstanding and friendly service, superb food and the beauty of nature, look no further! I rented one of the cabins for a little getaway for my boyfriend's 50th birthday. He loves nature, and I love amenities ~ Bingo! This was perfect! The staff has thought out every little detail to make your stay as stress free as possible. Even Mother nature cooperated, giving us 75 degree weather in March! We will definitely return, and since WE GOT ENGAGED right on the rustic front porch in our PJs (afterward enjoying the yummy breakfast in our rockers!), we most definitely will have to come back if just to relive that beautiful memory. The name of our cabin, Celebration, really did encompass our stay! The food is delectable and prepared with pride. A place you are catered to while at the same time, enjoying privacy. If there were six stars, I'd give them that!!
We had a wonderful, relaxing, great time away. This is a very nice place to stay (wish the weather would have been nicer during our time there but...still nice!) The food was EXCELLENT! Best salmon I ever had...would eat there even if I wasn't staying there...and u can do this by the way. They have different specialty items on their menu every day to change things up for the guests which is nice too. No TV or wifi in our cabin (MY Cabin) which was fine with us! Sometimes we all need a time to get away from the distractions in life and just enjoy time together. Something I which we could have done but couldn't because of the weather was enjoy the walking trails as well - next time. One suggestion - we brought our laptop and a DVD along to watch a movie on there instead.
Our first visit to Murphin Ridge will be the beginning of many more for us! We were so pleasantly surprised by the quiet, peaceful surroundings and the food is outstanding! The staff and the owners really know how to make their guests feel at home. We also enjoyed meeting the other guests who seemed to be enjoying their stay as much as we were. We stayed in a cabin and it was amazing.. We will be back!
This was my wife and I's fourth time here and it was great as always. The weather outside was cold but the cabin was warm and sooo relaxing. The food was excellent as usual and the staff treat you like long lost relatives. We will definitely plan on coming again. We recommend this place highly!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Murphin Ridge. The food was absolutely scrumptious. Nothing bad to say...all good. The staff was great and super friendly. We are glad we found Murphin Ridge and will look forward to our next visit.
I am a mother of six, working full time, in graduate school and internship for clinical counseling. My husband is a restaurant manager finishing his undergrad. To say that we are a little stressed would be a drastic understatement! So for our 7th wedding anniversary, we decided to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. We'd never heard of this place before, but the pictures looked relaxing, and we can be happy anywhere, so we gave it a shot. OH. MY. GOODNESS!!! The pictures don't do it justice. I have NEVER seen a hotel room as pristine as our king cabin was. The wood floors, wood walls, every single centimeter of the bed, windows, bathroom were spotless. It looked like they'd been renovated the day before we checked in! The bed was a little hard, I'll admit; but the relaxation factor of laying with my husband in a jacuzzi tub with a glass of wine by firelight as we watched an evening lightening storm cannot be captured in words, it was THAT magical! I had an in room massage on Saturday while my husband napped. It was cold, but we still had a great time exploring nearby shops and the serpent mounds. And the food is amazing!!! I didn't have a single thing I didn't like, and everyone was incredibly accommodating with my diabetic needs. The chef sincerely wants to please and will come to check on you personally while you're eating...and not because he has to. He seems to actually care what you thought and that you were happy. It was just amazing!! Definitely on your list to try should be pancakes, ribs, sunrise juice, bread pudding and their morning granola. YUM!!! The bath products provided smelled and felt amazing, and there were cookies and water in our room each morning. Overall, it was FANTASTIC...the most romantic and relaxing vacation I've ever had. I will definitely be going back!
We spent our 10 year anniversary here as a treat to ourselves. A treat is definitely what it was. The staff was professional, friendly and always exceeded our expectations. The grounds were well kept allowing for wildlife to be seen even during the winter months. The food was phenomenal. We were forced out of our comfort zone with some of the choices and were pleasantly surprised by it. Not one meal was amiss. Our cabin was amazing! It was clean and stocked with all our needs at all times. We also chose to do couples massage on one of our days. That was the best decision. The masseurs set up and preformed our massages in the comforts of our own cabin next to our warm fireplace. We truly couldn't have asked for more. This was our first B&B experience and we're already planning a summer trip here with our children.
One of the best evening meals I can remember and the best breakfast ever!! The fire pit in the evening was so relaxing and the stars really shone. No light pollution out here. As comfortable an evening and stay as I can remember. The owners are great and take extra time and courtesy for guests.
