Back again!

4,8 en noviembre 21, 2016

Well this one was easy. We were here two years ago for my cousin's wedding, and this year we came back to celebrate the birth of the new baby! So naturally we had to come back to see Peggy and Dave and stay at the Livingston Inn. Honestly, I don't think we would stay anywhere else in Madison. It is in the perfect location, beautiful street, beautiful house, and wonderful hosts. Highly, highly recommended. We are very experienced travelers and have traveled the globe. It is always a delight to find these little gems. Thanks Peggy and Dave! ...hope to see you next year again. Warm regards, Michael, Janice, and Stephen from Australia

Amazing Inn!

Husband and I loved our 5-day stay here which gave us time to learn the history and enjoy the ambiance of this historical site. Beautifully recovered with attention to detail, kind of a magical place that you can not get enough of. One of the oldest houses in Madison; close to downtown and the Capitol and the "real" Madison which we fell in love with. The greatest asset to this B&B is the hostess, Peggy, who effortlessly draws the morning breakfast guests into warm exchanges and accommodates everyone's needs for their stay. We loved this place. Another wonderful stay

We returned to the Livingston Inn after four years and it was like going home! Peggy welcomed us as old friends while we caught up on family and it was reassuring to see that the inn was as lovely and comfortable as we remembered. Dave continues to cook up a delicious hot breakfast including homemade breads and granola. He and Peggy have established a wonderful home away from home in Madison.

We were so happy to see your reservation and have the opportunity to catch up on everything once you arrived. Both of us strive to find that balance between maintaining what people enjoy about our inn and making little refinements and improvements along the way. In the end, though, it is about the people we meet and how much we enjoy welcoming them to our B&B. Thank you for staying with us and for your review! Warm regards, Peggy and Dave

Livingston Inn is a fabulous place to stay!

5 en septiembre 05, 2016

Not only was Peggy a friendly, knowledgeably & fun host, her little sweetie if a dog Ella, made the inn more home-y & staved off missing our own pooch. Peggy's dining recommendations were spot-on, our room was both beautiful & comfortable, and Lake Mendoza is literally right down the street! We could see it from our bedroom window too. The Inn was near everywhere we wanted to go: the Zoo, the Chavez art museum, & more. A terrific place to stay in Madison & feel a part of one if it's historic neighborhoods.

A lovely Getaway!

We arrived to meeting the co-owner, Peggy. She had a cheerful and kind demeanor and was incredibly hospitable and pleasant. We were shown our lovely and large room (the bathroom was huge), and Peggy was clear in explaining the accommodations, while not being intrusive. The home itself, was simply lovely. Peggy was ready to offer us any suggestions that we may have needed re: restaurants, culture, etc. In a nutshell, we felt like we were in excellent hands, and well cared for. Not something we have ever experienced in the past! We highly recommend the Livingston Inn, for the location, the accommodations, the delicious food, and the wonderful owners Peggy and Dave. They are a class act.

July in Madison

5 en agosto 06, 2016

I stayed at the Livingston Inn for two nights a couple of weeks ago and I couldn't have been happier with my choice. I must confess that I don't usually stay in b&b's as I am more accustomed to the anonymity of a hotel. But Peggy strikes the perfect balance between offering a warm welcome and respecting her guests' privacy. She responded promptly to my telephone and email inquiries and greeted me with a warm welcome when I arrived. She is very knowledgeable about dining in Madison and her recommendations were spot on. And the Livingston Inn is also home to Ella, a sweet little cocker/poodle mix who greeted me both mornings. Ellen Barreto

A great place to stay in Madison

Peggy is a gracious host. We brought our own bicycles with us to ride around Madison and Peggy allowed us to leave them in her garage overnight. Our room was very clean, quiet, and comfortable. Breakfast was quite good. When we return to Madison, we will see if we can stay here.

Beautiful place - We'll be back

We had a wonderful visit to Madison and we loved the Livingston Inn. Peggy was so knowledgeable and helpful. When we arrived, she showed us around and suggested that we sit out on the water and enjoy the evening. Chairs and table were out on the dock. What a nice surprise! She gave us several suggestions for dinner within walking distance. Also, upon learning that my husband was a Frank Lloyd Wright fan, she suggested that we go to Taliesin. A great side trip. Our room was clean and comfortable. It had air conditioning, which we definitely used. Our breakfast the next day had plenty of different choices for me (I'm not a carb eater). Finally, I accidentally left something in the room and Peggy chased it down and sent it to me. Thanks!

Taliesin is definitely a great choice for a visit during this time of year, so we're glad you went. And we're glad the post-visit mailing worked out! Enjoy the rest of your summer!
