This bed and breakfast is charming, relaxing and peaceful. The decor is elegant with a mountain theme. The living room creates a cosy area for visiting or just relaxing in front of the fire. Breakfast was delicious. The staff are friendly and helpful.
Very cute, quiet, romantic B&B. Breakfast was a bit small, portion-wise, but delicious. Wifi and cell service is very weak. TV would have been nice - we wanted to watch some college football in our cabin. Service was great; staff very friendly. LOVE the log cabin construction of the main lodge. Complimentary wine in the evenings is a nice touch!
We stayed two mid-week nights at Wild Horse Inn. Donna greeted us, gave the tour and suggested several restaurants nearby for dinner. She also suggested going back to RMNP to view the elk grazing at sunset which was well worth the drive. Our room was comfortable, the breakfast wonderful both mornings and we enjoyed interesting conversation with other guests. Would definately return.
We have stayed at Wildhorse Inn several times, and loved each and every stay! They provide a delicious breakfast, and hot water to enjoy a warm drink on a cold day, and red wine that you can enjoy as well. Thank you for another wonderful stay!
Winter Park Chateau has the warmest, most gracious hosts that we have experienced in a long time. They welcome you to their home, serve a delicious, filling breakfast, and are extremely helpful in providing suggestions and answering questions about what there is to do in the local vicinity. Our only reservations that keeps us from giving this B&B a 5 Star rating across the board concerned the size of the rooms and the quality of the bed linens. Both were a tad tired. In addition, the sliding screen door to our porch was off the track and in need of repair.
Wild Horse was a great surprise to find, as we were searching for an escape in Fraser/Tabernash ... the people, the cabin, the food, the beautiful environment... and a phenomenal massage - everything we wanted was exceeded.
Our stay was one of the most amazing experiences! The staff was superb! Always going above and beyond to help us out. My husband and I have stayed in many bed and breakfasts over the years but The Wild Horse Inn is definitely our favorite!
We stayed in one of the dog friendly cabins. John was a great host, made us and the dogs feel very much at home. Can't say enough about the cabin, although it is on the small side, it was very clean, well equipped and relaxing. Would definitely recommend.
The Wild Horse Inn was lovely - close to lots of things to do. The breakfasts were wonderful. We stayed in a cabin which was very nice. The cabins are not house keeping cabins - the "kitchen" only has a microwave, coffee pot and small frig - but this was fine for our short trip.
This is a very well managed B&B. It is very attractive and clean and comfortable. We enjoyed all aspects of our stay including the outdoor areas with great views. The staff is very personalble and helpful. There were nice little touches like an ongoing cookie jar, wine, available coffee early in the am and well appointed rooms. The common areas were very welcoming and comfortable.Would highly recommend The Wild Horse.
The Wild Horse Inn was everything we hoped for and more! We booked the "Buckskin Room" and it was utterly beautiful. The only "downside" that might exist for some visitors is that it is right off the lobby. This means that you can hear others talking, breakfast preparations in the morning, etc. If you value more privacy, I would recommend one of the other rooms in the lodge or an adorable cabin, two of which even allow your pet!! Everything is spotless and upscale. We enjoyed the hot tub in the evening and the complimentary glass of wine on our private part of the deck! They have a little rescue dog, Bella, that is a delight and helped alleviate the loneliness of leaving our own dogs behind :-) John was so creative with breakfast that even I, a "non breakfast person" ate every last bite. The whole experience was perfect and left us slightly depressed when our visit was over!! My husband and I can't wait to return!
We love this Inn! This is the second time my husband and I have stayed there. The memories that stood out for us the first time - were how comfortable it was to lounge in front of the large stone fire place and look through the great collection of books, and how much we enjoyed the high bed and the conversations we had with the other guests around the breakfast table. This time we had the luxury to stay in the Mariposa Cabin. I feel I could live there full time. It is a great use of space – and lots of attention is paid to details i.e. a hand-painted sink in the bathroom. I appreciate all of the materials used in the structures and furniture throughout the lodge. The setting is lovely ….very convenient to several mountain towns and hikes. And it is less than 2 hours from where we live in Denver. The atmosphere is relaxing and stimulating at the same time. We look forward to going there again and again.
When planning a weekend getaway to the mountains we found Wild Horse Inn online and thought it looked cute, was close enough to Winter Park Skiing, and was a reasonable price. When we showed up we were so pleasantly surprised by the whole property! It's gorgeous. The main Inn is SO cozy, clean, and comfortable. The other guests were very friendly but not too intrusive. Chris, on of the owners was welcoming and helped us to plan a snowshoeing day. And the room was so much cuter than we anticipated! We loved our stay . . . especially the community wine that we kept flowing, even in the hot tub! We will definitely come back to stay again and have already recommended it to friends/family. The one negative that we found is that noise from the rooms does carry, so if you want complete privacy I would highly recommend the cabins which are only a few seconds walk away. Otherwise this place is a gem!!
The owners, Laura and Greg, do a splendid job on creating a fun, comfortable place to stay that also gives value as a community. The downstairs rooms encourage mingling with other guests which seemed an important experience for everyone staying here. The owners knowledge of local dining is only matched by how well they are liked and known about town. We had some dinning discounts as part of our package and this was enhanced by other deals available to all the guests at local eateries. We loved the variety and quality of the breakfasts. Eggs, burritos, French toast, good coffee and juice. The evening snack/happy hour was a favorite too and allowed time with other guests. The rooms are sumptuous and comfortable and the Chateau is well appointed and wonderfully eclectic, suiting a ski/mountain getaway. Rates are higher than hotels but having lived in hotels we can say that the added benefits described above give value that you won't find elsewhere. The location is very good and allowed us to walk every evening to different restaurants throughout town.
What can I say, an absolutely beautiful Chateau, the rooms were clean, luxurious and cosy. The breakfast was always a treat we looked forward to getting up to as was the complimentary happy hour wine and nibbles after a day on the slopes.Greg and Laura are fantastic hosts both going out of their way to make you feel welcome and appreciated as a customer, guest and friend.Offering personal ideas as to where to visit and eat out for dinner, we had a fabulous stay and will definately be back one day.
